I was officially inactive for a couple years, but got sick of throwing money away in perpetuity, so I just quit registering. My understanding of the IL rules is that on the very, very remote off-chance I ever decide to practice again, I can make a motion for reinstatement and just pay up the back fees and catch up on

Confirming what another poster explained — you can “surrender” your law license in Illinois by voluntarily becoming inactive if you don’t intend to practice during the reporting year. Remaining active means paying hundreds of dollars in annual dues, plus keeping up to date on continuing education, which is

Was coming here to say exactly that. I don’t even know which is worse. At least the anti-vaxxers can blame ignorance or mental illness for their woeful misunderstanding of science, but she knows better and is only in it for her own venal interests.

That wasn’t the joke. The joke was her response to finding out that this is the definition of a term on Urban Dictionary. She was clearly appalled by the idea that someone would do that, and by the fact that someone made up a term to describe it.

Same. They’re so disgusting, and even the tiniest bit of beet juice can make a whole dish taste like beety dirt.

Beets taste like dirt. You and your toddler like eating dirt?

Not saying most don’t understand it on an intellectual level, just that they have a hard time doing what is in their best financial/legal interest because the emotional toll of staying can be so high. Overall, from a quality of life standpoint, maybe they’re better off leaving, but an attorney isn’t a therapist —

Not only that, but it’s hard to establish constructive discharge, so it weakens their overall case. I get why people feel a situation is intolerable, but from the lawyer’s perspective, it’s better for them to stick it out, show that they’re continuing to do their job (even in the face of continuing harassment). Best

I think even Terry himself confirmed it in an interview recently — he’s the one who wants the enormous house, Heather’s just carrying out his desire. She definitely works in her own preferences (the champs wall, the hair salon, etc.), but the overall scale and grandeur is what Terry wants. And he’s working because he

I would have guessed Vicki for the same reason.

Seriously hate her so, so much. I get ragey every time she’s in a scene, even if she hasn’t yet done anything, just because I know she’ll demonstrate once again what a fucking asshole she is.

Honestly my favorite clip of any of the franchises. I could watch it on repeat all day long, and it would be just as enjoyable the millionth time.

Ugh, they’re the fucking worst together. They bring out each other’s meanest, most base instincts. As much as I know she’s a shitty person, I can usually stomach Tamra when she’s not cackling with Vicki about how they’re going to exclude one of the other women.

Yes, this. I think the main reason Shannon is mad at Vicki is because Vicki was gossiping about David’s affair, which was exactly what Vicki promised her she would never do, in contrast to Tamra and Heather. Yes, Shannon was ultimately discussing it on air, but even though those scenes had obviously already filmed,

And I sincerely doubt she’s partied with John-John and Madonna.

Thank you so much! Looks like you guys are doing wonderful work in his name, and the world is a better place because he was here.

Re: whether other groups have become targets for insulting comparisons, of course. The most obvious example I can think of is the way people like to say that someone’s being a “bitch” or a “pussy” if they’re not appropriately tough.

Chris sounds like he was an amazing kid. Thanks for sharing your stories about him. :) My son has CP as well, and I always worry about the people out in the world who will only see him as a disability. You do a great job of making sure people see your son as the unique human being he was.

Oh, good to know re: the recommended age. I looked into it a little bit last year when we first got the CP diagnosis, and saw it recommended for 3+ I didn’t realize they recommend the earlier end of that time frame, but that makes sense. We’re meeting with our physiatrist again in September to assess for Botox, so

Haven’t looked into it in great depth yet because he’s a little young for it right now, but it’s definitely on the table as a later option. I’ve heard great things about it. How old was your daughter when you had it done? Was she already standing/walking independently?
