Great article Annalee. It reminds a bit of the advent of the high rise/skyscraper in the late nineteenth century. The use of steel as a structural material, in place of masonry walls, allowed buildings to be built higher than ever before.

One step would be to start implementing more "passive house" technology, especially in the U.S., in building construction. It's not perfect, but it would help in reducing the energy requirements of heating/cooling homes and offices.

@Death_By_SnuSnu: That's what I thought. I love this show, but come on, it's the poster child for CW melodrama.

@serenada: I'm still leaning toward the whole this is Fake Sam. Since even Heaven doesn't know why he's back, it makes me think the Family Campbell is up to something, and they're using Fake Sam for their plan.

"Given that Nixon only took office in 1969, I'm betting on LBJ."

I tried watching Star Trek V (don't ask why, I just had an inkling) a couple days ago on Netflix Instant, but it kept causing my Xbox to freeze up. I suppose the universe was telling me to wait for this post.

I'm honestly surprised Glenn Beck hasn't used this video as evidence of a socialist government putting secret explosives in citizens' bodies. And that "they" (big scary voice over here) will blow you up if you step out line with the extreme left-wing agenda of curbing global warming.

@serenada: I wonder if it's some government organization, al a Buffy season 4. Maybe some sort of equivalent of The Initiative has been dabbling in the supernatural.

@Asbestos_Underwear: While I agree with you about the importance of human rights, I disagree with you about the role of architecture.

@Roklimber: That's simply one of many! Just wait until the Space Needle actually launches into space, and forms the bases of my mobile weapons platform. Victory shall be mine!

@rwald: I'm not sure what R.O.A.C.H. is up to as of late. Haven't heard much from The Potentate. But for the record, The League of Evil Architects in is no way affiliated with R.O.A.C.H.

@MonkeyT: I'll let Marketing know there is interest.

I remember seeing the plans for this at the last meeting of the League of Evil Architects. Glad to see they got it up and running.

I think you meant February 18, 2011.

Let's take it one step further. Mecha Bearantula! The unholy union of machine and animal!
