Maybe, but Monte Carlos got their reputation in the days of RWD and V8s, (1970 - 1988), as did the Impala. Since then, they are just names. Even the FWD models between 1995 and 2000 were based on the Cutlass/Lumina W-body platform. You couldn't even get a V8 in the FWD ones until the final 2 years (2006-2007).
