and a much better gameplay. levels in DNF were actually fine, there was a good variety and overall the design was good (I loved the part where you drive the RC car and go around miniaturized, for example). The fact that were linear was not the problem for me, the boring part was the regenerating health, having to

this actually looks neat. And zero hype around it, maybe people can finally shut up about Molyneux and 22cans can actually show that a game studio is not just one person.

“Things are looking astoundingly bleak on the Godus front. What a mess. Actually, this was a mess early last year. Then 22Cans tried to mop it up,

Bullshit. We are in 2016 dude, you can watch and know everything about a game even before installing it, and 2 hours are a lot more than you need to figure out if the game has problems running on your hardware. Gamers try to refund stuff they played for hours are little spoiled shitstains.

this is total bullshit. 2 hours are much more than what is needed to try the game and eventually ask for a refund if it doesn’t work.

I love how people are like “for $5 this is great” and then they spend hundred hours on that thing. I’m probably old(er), but I value my time a lot more than that, so I really don’t care if a game is $60 or 5 bucks, I just think: am I going to have fun/is it worth my precious free time?

I guess it’s the same with people

he’s talking about an expansion that is pretty much another game

galactic adventures is an expansion

Spore is actually a very fun game and with time kind of redeemed itself, an it’s still played. Servers are up and everything. My girlfriend loves it, she started playing games around that period and was one of the first games she really got into so I grabbed the full thing with all the expansions few years ago, and

Spore has actually aged quite well, my girlfriend loves it, and with the hype\hate train long gone you can now just play the game and enjoy it for what it is and not for what was promised back in the day

I’d add this one:

I invented the therm “adult whack-a-mole” for games like Uncharted\Gears\Specops etc and it fits the gameplay so well, can we start to call cover based shooters that way? (maybe it can be mistaken for something involving glory holes and hammers...)

Uncharted suffers from the same gameplay-story detachment than these two new tomb raider. They want to tell a story about a likeable thief or about a scared girl in survival situations but that’s only what happens in the cutscenes, the game tells a different one: it’s the story of a goddamn murder machine

Wolfenstein TNO levels are’t much more open than DNF. But the game had better pacing (the hub thing was a perfect to balance the carnage, while in DNF the dream part was very annoying)

the new world order thing is a great idea. For a new Duke game you need to start fresh somehow, DNF built too much on top, the Duke empire has to crumble and making him a relic of a now shameful past is just the perfect idea and pretty much the only thing to do if you don’t want to reboot the whole thing

For me the pacing on Doom 4 was pretty much flawless, at least on ultraviolence and nightmare, but it’s kind of subjective at some degree, do you have any example of that pacing issue\levels that aren’t that great?

honestly, glory kills probably went on Doom 4 from Brutal Doom, not from DNF

Wow, you totally sold me Duke Nukem 5 with your pitch!
The Doctor Who Cloned Me was great. And in the end I think DNF was still a lot of fun, it had very slow and tedious moments, it lacked the great design of DN3D, but was big dumb fun (with few lackluster ideas like weapon limit and ego bar), something that in that

you are making a bunch of stuff up, I agree with Doc here, healthbars just feel wrong, (and damage numbers too). You don’t want to have the enemy flying off if he’s not dead, but at least a good impact animation and lots of blood. Doom 4 is a perfect example of this, even Quake 1 works better than the average modern

Quake IS the best fps ever. Quake 1 I mean. Weirdly now followed by Doom 4.

Yes, that's why it's not going to happen, that edition is pretty much dead
