And guess who gets to pay taxes to fix those roads? If you guessed “ICE owners,” you’d be correct!

All of these giant EVs with their gargantuan weights are going to wreak havoc on our roads. I imagine road repairs to be required much more frequently if full sized SUVs and trucks go full EV.

I’ve done that, HYundai is basically ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If over the course of several hundred deals thoughout the year MOST dealers get it right and have no problem sending out the door prices, even on out of state deals...the problem is not the “complexitity of the system” if a FL dealer refuses to send a quote for a Florida customer, especially when their competiton can

but screwing over EV owners while you do it is just peak asshole.”

Dude, nuke plants go 18 months- 2 years between refueling. That’s not intermittent at all. Intermittent is when the sun isn’t shining and the wind isn’t blowing various times of the day.

Best answer to me would be renewables and a mix of batteries/nuclear so there aren’t any breaks in power. Pumped hydro/hydro where its applicable.

“seriously terrifying", “bursts of traffic” , “dicey” , “it just goes”.......I’m so scared of the Robot Overlords

Of course, it’s not actually remotely cab over, since cab overs are impossible to make remotely safe. It just seems like they decided to go with a 3 foot long dashboard. I figure they didn’t want it to look like a Chevy Express van with a pickup bed so they went with the giant bubble front instead.

I love Mazdas. My first car, first new car, first (and second) sports car have all been Mazdas. I autocross my Miata and use Mazda’s wonderful Mazdaspeed support program. Except for the RX-7 from Minnesota, they’ve been pretty much trouble-free.

However, I still remember how several Mazda dealers treated me 25-30

The aforementioned fall. The tire exploded and the rim bent, but I rode it out and 300 miles on it since with no problems.

I’ve raced bikes for a while now, and after an injury ended my “career” I got in to cars and was happy to see how much cheaper some of the stuff was lol

Pfffft. Get with the times Orlove. there’s been 5 figure bikes for years and most of them don’t even have a motor.

2nd gear: So, in 2020, we spent $165 billion on highways in America. From 1956 to 1975, we spent $85 billion making the Eisenhower highway system. That would be $409 billion in 2020 dollars.

1st: Tesla falling 5% is hardly outside the norm and is not an indication that the bubble has burst.  This happens every few weeks.

That’s what you get for suing Napster.

And the Trogdor comes in the NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!

Raphael Orlove: “Non-EVs should be banned now.”

According to a guy on Reddit, the actual thing that happened was the driver leaned over to pick up something from the footwell, and the car started rolling. He tried to push the brakes to stop it, but stomped the throttle instead, and probably panicked when it shot forward.

(laughs) I read that as “Siennas”, and was like wow, this guy doesn’t get out much...
