There was an interesting study released this week that questions whether or not the bystander effect actually exists.

That isn’t justified as per most use of force training taught to US law enforcement.

Those two things are NOT mutually exclusive nor does the police officers actions in any way justify the security officers action.

It is entirely possible they both committed a felony. The security officer is the only one who is likely to be prosecuted for it, and rightfully so.

You could also have read the full comment that you pulled excerpts from... including this part:

I would doubt this. Most 2nd Amendment supporters see increasing ownership of firearms by people of color and women as key to protecting the right.

Then the NRA pivoted to protect all American’s 2nd Amendment rights at that point in time. Prior to the laws designed to disarm the Black Panther’s, the NRA did not have a political bent.

Cop or not, you do not pull a firearm on an individual, armed or not, who is not displaying any threatening behaviour.

Understanding that this does not redeem the security officer at all, but there’s a chance the officer was committing a felony by entering a federal building while armed, in uniform or not. I’m attempting to confirm this now.

The officer may have, strangely enough, been committing a felony.

Paramedics are far more trained than you probably give them credit for.

Jim Carrey, at least to me, was the worst part of that trailer.

I could deal with Sonic’s character design, but could they please freaking fire Jim Carrey.

You can’t tell me the LM isn’t the Lexus version of the Toyota Alphard.

You clearly haven’t been to Japan.

I think you meant to reply to the commenter above me.

How is aioli a type of mayo?  It typically doesn’t even contain egg.

While the electrician is there, it’s worth having him install surge protection on the coax drop as well.

It will. As will your power strip manufacturer in most cases.

There are some fears about a direct lightning spike to your pole having enough voltage to arc over a consumer devices fusing, but I haven’t seen any solid evidence of that being widespread.

It would likely offer less.
