I agree. Beautiful, gorgeous film. I still think it is one of the best science fiction films ever made. I just feel that it drags a little, and I'm not a whiz-bang kind of viewer, I LIKE laconic. But sometimes 2001 is...glacial.

When I saw the Hobbit in 48fps in Imax (Well, liemax, but I digress...) I was initially thrown off by how lifelike it was, but then I decided that it was really similar to watching a live theater production and for some reason, that seemed to the part of my brain that was rejecting the 48fps go "Oh, ok, I can roll…
I am not someone who hates a long static shot. Seriously, nothing against them, sometimes in films, I feel like they will throw something beautiful up on the screen, and then cut away before you have a chance to take it in.
I know I'm in the minority in really liking the film, perhaps because I wasn't a comics reader. After seeing the fantastic trailer, I went and picked up the graphic novel and absolutely lurved it.
Yeah, I'm with you. I don't own anything really nice, but I love a cool mechanical watch. No one else cares, but I love wearing a machine on my wrist that can keep time, date, the position of celestial bodies, all with a spring and some gears. It's just amazing.
I wish minecraft looked as pretty as the doctored renders.
My comment was a response to a typo in the original article.
How cold is cold enough that installing a warmer makes sense?
#6 is something I learned recently. I live on the Oregon coast and I had to make a quick run inland to pick up somebody at the airport. I have to drive over a pass to get there. I got into the tunnel on the California side and boom, major snowstorm. It's about 6 inches deep and untouched, plows have yet to show up and…
You'll never forget your fist time.
I had an Australian Shepherd that was eerie smart. I could just converse with him and he would understand my intentions, not just simple commands.
You ARE joking, right?
Is it flying?
The Cooler Master 212 really is an amazing product for it's cost. I have run my PCs for years with a moderate overclock with this cooler and it does a phenomenal job. I also have the Zalman in one of my PCs and it's also quite good, but I bought it primarily because it was going in a windowed case and it just looks…
I would love this, but my car uses the stupid MOST optical output, making it work with basically nothing.
Doesn't the president make $400K a year? Sounds like he can afford to take the missus out for a fancy meal.
I recently watched "Edge of Darkness", and thought it was excellent. I think it must've just disappeared after release due to Gibson's personal life. Anyone else seen it? Thoughts?
I would vote for Seagate Wireless portable 2TB hard drive. Basically it allows your tablet or phone to have a massive storage system. Stream movies or music, offload pics, etc.
The fact that they balanced the craft by using the pressure of sunlight.... Holy mother of invention.
