Ok. I come from the "other side" in these arguments, but I also think we all should play fair.

Evolution does not involve anything outside of the life sciences. If something does not have DNA, then evolution has nothing to say on the subject.

Please provide an example of a "genuine" question.

I just read his response in your link. He makes the argument that God hands out laws that make sense to the situation of the people who received them. Thus, bludgeoning your daughter to death with a rock for having sex before marriage WAS moral, you know back then. Today, it would be immoral because god hands out laws

I would expect nothing less from the monster you worship. Or his followers.

If the message is flawed/wrong, why use it as your guiding principle? Why would an omnipotent being allow his instructions to his creations be bastardized and wrong?

I actually don't find it beautiful at all. Quite the opposite actually.

So a God who supports slavery and killing children for disobeying their parents IS moral, because his morality is so far beyond our ability to understand? We're just too stupid to understand the inherent rightness of, say, slavery?

I remember that well. It strongly informs my own stance on the subject.

I think I'm going to build a couple of scaled down versions of this for my daughters.

I grew up in the deep south. My small hometown (pop. 673) has enough churches I used to joke that you could drive across town just using the asphalt of church parking lots and never touch the actual road. So, I was steeped in the blood of Christ from an impressionable age.

I don't have faith that God doesn't exist. I simply don't believe he exists. It's NOT the same thing. Lack of believing does not mean I believe in my lack of believing.

What the heck is that crazy-looking revolver with the barrel mounted at the BOTTOM of the cylinder?

We used to throw a piece in a soda bottle with some water and cap it, then toss it away. Far away. Makes one hell of a boom.

The one that covers what happens after they arrive on the new planet is probably more interesting than the first. Lot of anachronisms due to the age of the books, but definately a Rendezvouz with Rama vibe (although it predates that book).

Yes. I was looking for this one to be here.

Is it dumb? Yes. Is it full of cheese? Si.

When a country doesn't spy on its own citizens it is "isolationist"?

Bioshock. They had my money with the first images I ever had of that game.
