Exactly this. Me and a buddy tend to watch these things via watch parties. Being intro’d to the work table, we both said “THX” at nearly the same time.

That isn’t what the films argue about attachment. The films are very much all about affirming an anti-attachment position and Luke’s throne room scene is no different. I don’t think you understand the argument developed between episodes 5-6.

Thank you, I was thinking the same thing. The astetic of that place alone reminded me so much of THX 1138, I would be surprised if there wasn’t at least some inspiration there.

Beautifully put, and I can’t agree more. When Luke offered Grogu the choice, I really truly hoped that Luke actually wanted him to choose Mando…that it was the right choice. Instead, we got more Jedi emotional abstinence B.S. Ah well.

But I think some folks now take it at face value that Anakin turned to the dark side because he wanted attachments, and not that he turned because it was un healthy to deny them.

i mean sure, by the time luke is old in the sequels he realizes all that, but young luke who is trying to revive the jedi order is still relatively inexperienced and unaware of all the details that brought about the fall of the jedi. he probably started out trying to emulate the original order as much as he could only…

Shakespeare was over rated. It’s not even in real English! And the man takes forever to get to the point! Real people don’t talk to each other or themselves that much in real life.  He must have been paid by the word.....

I’m pretty confident they’re building towards an adaptation of the original (Legends) Thrawn trilogy. Obviously there will need to be substantial revisions to fit it into the current cannon and given the age of the original trilogy actors (and Carrie Fisher’s death).

I think he was killed in the Legacy of the Force series, sometime around or after Mara Jade’s death. I honestly stopped reading the books myself so I’m not completely sure.

He makes it all the way through the Vong War, even well into Legacy of the Force before being assassinated by Darth Caedus’ apprentice. He does manage one fantastic speech/ “reason you suck” monologue before dying though.  

Great summary but slight tweak to the end. He was actually assassinated by Tahiri Veila when Pellaeon wouldn’t support her then would be Sith master Darth Caedus. But he did live to the ripe old age of 92 and went out like a bad ass.
