I was happy to see the tri-screen monitor on the conference table.

That’s all that needs to be said.

Little?!??

Note:

I’ll give you that Star Trek: The Motion Picture is long and breezily paced, but I respectfully disagree with most of your other points James.

I guess its a bit like a suit of medieval armour, which you basically need a squire to help you get into effectively,

You forgot that they actually have to get back to the Arrowcave to put the stuff on before heading out.

I think by the fourth age its as much a metaphor for heaven as anything else.

It’s a visual medium and all that. It’s supposed to look cool, not be practical.

And that everyone has to stand still as Grant walks onto set

I remember Kevin Smith talking about this on his podcast reflecting on directing a few eps, they really do have to stop and switch his headpiece because it’s not removable on his own. The other fun thing is that they do the “Barry runs into a room” in the exact way I hoped; put a fan on him while Grant takes two

I’m not OP but the silly outfits are probably the number one thing that put me off superhero narratives. I can accept the super powers but the concept of fighting crime in underwear trips me up.

I love how obvious it is that Grant Gustin can’t take off his cowl on the Flash. Every single time he unmasks, there’s a hard cut.

It’s always interesting to see which flags of “realism” different people choose to plant. I’m not super judging your issues over this, it’s just interesting to me that this is the thing that is bothersome.

I couldn’t agree with you more. You said it better than I could.

The clips are really more “character showcase” than events. I imagine that was the best one they could find of Anakin and Padme. The “frollicking with giant potato bugs in the lake country” clip wouldn’t have worked as well.

You are provided with a costume.  Seriously.

Disney actually has a “no costume” policy for adults because then other guests might confuse you for staff.  I get the logic, but still sad.

Thank you. Generations remains my favorite of the TNG movies, even if they did trash NCC-1701-D.
I always saw the Kirk place in Generations as a epilogue. With VI - his story was done, but it was nice that he could contribute to the next hero’s story.
