ManPants' mother has been quite vocal about how she'd like to try pot (also ecstasy, randomly). If it becomes legal in DE, we're taking her on a field trip.

I've said this about Deborah Messing, but it's probably applicable to Lauer too: There must be some incredibly nasty, kinky shit on the blackmail photos she/he has of NBC execs.
I pretty much don't like anything she stands for and am embarrassed to share an alma mater with her. However, I'd like to think I'm not a totally awful person, so I'm glad her health scare wasn't as bad as it could've been.
Goddamn. Old school Biden can GET IT.
Despite what another commenter seems to think, that doesn't really bother me nor do I feel like my body is being attacked. For the most part, my body is more often seen as closer to the ideal, I benefit from seeing multiple representations of my body as the "norm", and one instance of someone saying "skinny bitches"…
So, I'm not really certain what part of my comment made you think I felt attacked/hurt or that your experiences were invalid.
That said, I'm troubled by how many interviews with Lovato I've read all see to focus on her appearance/body. Yes, people in recovery can enjoy a healthy exercise regimen, but I feel like it is so incredibly tone deaf of these reporters to be like "Hey, you had a very public battle with an eating disorder, but tell us…
Seriously. For the most part, someone else's body has no impact on my life, so why should I bother?
I'm a teacher, so whenever my student's talk about bodies or appearance, I always tell them "There's more than 7 billion people on this planet, which means there's more than 7 billion ways to be beautiful and awesome".
This the only song I've heard of Trainor's but I don't think she's that good.
I feel like a bunch of corporate songwriters got together and were like "hey, body acceptance is cool, right? Let's make a song about that and bring in lots of money. Oh, better make sure we mention The Menz"
Granted, as a skinny woman, I probably don't get an opinion on this, but I really can't get behind the "All About That Bass" love. Ultimately, the message seems to be that multiple body types are fine…as long as they get a man's approval.
Seriously, "Lights'' (the album) got me through a horrendous breakup and for that I will forever be grateful.
Please tell me this new town is Philly because I would love to be a part of this!
This reminds me of the Donald Glover (I think?) bit about how, while guys might have crazy ex girlfriend stories, women don't have crazy ex boyfriend stories because crazy ex-bf often =dead.
When ManPants and I first started dating, he was one of those "I totally believe in everything feminism stands for, but I wouldn't call myself a feminist" types (literally, his only flaw). Now he's all "yeah I'm a feminist".
I'll probably get jumped on for being a Chris Brown apologist, but wasn't he diagnosed with bipolar disorder? Not that that excuses everything (I've known people with bipolar disorder who've managed to keep the altercations at 0), but that would be another card stacked against him.
I was going to post some sort of navel-gazing post, but I think Frank Turner's said it best: "And it's obvious my angry adolescent days are done/but I'm happy and I'm settled in the person I've become"
I kept a LiveJournal when I was a(n incredibly depressed) Senior in high school. I never deleted the account and pulled up my journal a few years ago. Yikes.
A couple years ago, ManPants and I baked a pie for a 4th of July party that never materialized. The next morning, we devoured the entire thing for breakfast, simply because we were mother-effing adults.
