my concern is that government subsidies to amtrack can run over 1000$/person per trip for longer routes.

the bus services between nyc and dc are like 20-40$. amtrak is more like 100 for non-refundable, no mid day arrival tickets.

the shorter, high volume routes make sense, the longer ones don’t.

they are all very ambitious with very ambitious goals. that doesn’t make them all slytherin.
