I live in the NW and similarly rust isn't a "problem", but body and motor have seen over 300,000 miles (equiv to 12 times around the earth). Most of the car has taken that gracefully, but it's really hard for something that sees that much water, dirt, and heat to not die a slow terrible death.

At this point in my very early automotive life, I have removed the head and reinstalled it, I've pulled an LSD dissassembled/reassembled, and there isn't a suspension piece I haven't fiddled with or replaced. I love learning how my E30 BMW works, and I do it all solo and with nothing but jackstands.

I don't think I said anything that would imply I thought they were the same thing. In fact I make a point of calling out "BMW Company" just to void confusion with BMW CCA.

I honestly have not. I listened to a Seattle emergency CB radio channel a few months back, but that was streaming over the Internet, so I'm not counting it in this context :)

And what do you listen to on AM radio? Me thinks it must be a talk show of sorts? And would you say you represent the car buying public fairly well?

I missed it as well.

@#$%. I hate gifs. I want one damn video playing in front of me at a time, and I want it to start and stop when I say so. Am I really so alone in thinking gifs are meant for looping short animations and not for recorded video?

Could be worse. The front could have fallen off.

Silly! Millennials don't look for information themselves. They just ask questions have it fed to them as they require it!

Best $100 spent on my car: Seats. By far the best bang for the buck as far as the driving experience was to throw out the flat comfort seats and get proper sports seats. For reference, I have an E30, and the seats I put in were used, and came as a stock option. I did not go down to the local motorsport store, buy a

Unless you're a cool kid and have directional tires, and then your "rotation" is a simple front to back thing. No criss crossing arrows advised :)

I just moved to Seattle not too long ago, so still getting my feet wet. Pacific would be my home track, though I've been out on PIR and ORP as well. Link to "Turn 2"? I want to say I came across their name once, but they don't have a very google friendly company name ;-)

First off BMW CCA is an independent company set up by the enthusiasts because corporate BMW wanted nothing to do with it. Its no different than going to a NASA or speed trials event.

I think you are referring to a "Stereo", which is indeed a multi function device that can have a radio, but doesn't have to. "Radio" as a term is AFAIK pretty exclusive to FM Radio. If I see a car advertised as "having a radio" I do not assume it has XM-Radio or a CD player. Is this a regional difference in terms?

Here in the NW, there are very few clubs that put on track days, but besides Porsche, BMW CCA chapters are the ones that do it. I've heard of an Audi one ever so often, and there are a few independent companies that do it. But I've been to two BMW CCA track days so far this year, with two more planned before the year

I almost argued this, but then I remembered I was thinking of BMW CCA. Certainly the BMW CCA has to be one of the best clubs as far as funding and putting on enthusiast events? At least they are in the NW.

I'm 28, and I only recall hearing a radio once in the last 6 years (I'm using college as a reference point). I realize that my age group does not represent "most people", but I do get rides from many people, many of them without the newer technologies like sat radio. These people still tend to have a headphone jack

I love that it's the antenna that's listed as going away and not the radio. Okay, sure, there are some practical uses for radios, but I see them more as an "additional safety feature" than any sort of requirement. The only time I use the radio in my car is when I need to tune in to traffic advisories, and that usually

Race car drivers, when allowed, only use automatic transmissions because it's faster. If it weren't faster, they wouldn't use it.

Most people don't "heel" and "toe", they "ball of foot" and "side of foot". Use the ball of your foot right below your big toe, and twist your heel sideways to the right and role your foot onto the gas. In fact the example video is pretty good. He isn't using his toes, and though he's slamming his foot down on the gas
