"Louis CK's joke argument was, basically, "Well, I have all this stuff that I could do without, and by doing without, I could give the money saved to charity, and therefor, by NOT doing without, I'm killing kids"

Ladies and Gentlemen, I'd like to present to you our guest speaker DennyCraneDennyCraneDennyCrane. Today he will be presenting "Justification for Inaction 101". I hope that you find it as enlightening and disheartening as I did.

While that was funny (and makes me scared for my next track day) it strikes me as dubbed over. I wasn't really sure until he starts casually waving to the flaggers while laughing and not moving his head.

The video linked in the article looks more like a race than it does a "track day". Maybe other countries do not distinguish?

There is so much wrong with that video. Not like any track day I've ever been too. Why the heck was there so much crap in the car? Having loose items in the car is stupid. Second, were there flaggers? Why wasn't this red flagged and why didn't everyone come to a grinding halt? Ugh...

Now playing

That's pretty cool, but it's a far cry from my favorite Nurburgring video, which has to be the Hans Stuck one. I wanted to see how much these super cars were actually pushing it, or able to utilize their 840hp V12 engines, so I lined this video up against the Hans Stuck video. Just. Damn.

Perhaps he meant "seriously hurt". He wasn't bleeding (according to dialog) and he was able to walk under his own power. It'll hurt but likely be healed in a week under his own power. Considering how hurt he could have been, that's pretty good.

PGP in Kent, next to Pacific Raceway is by far my favorite track. Outside, extremely configurable, good surface, and as of this January brand new karts. They run all different kinds of races, including multiple heat races where they change the track eat heat to something you haven't practiced yet.

My assumption was always that it actually is safer, but not for reasons of speed. Let's assume some idiot actually tries to reach the top speed of their new veyron. It might reach 258 in a "reasonable" time and distance. However that last 10mph is going to take a lot longer as its acceleration starts approaching zero,

"Fine" and "alive" are two different things. If the Cabin of the car stays intact (Roll cage) the next problem is keeping the human head from smashing into things. You can beat your hand against something a dozen times until every bone in it is fractured, but you won't die, but knock your head the wrong way and you

Firstly, "Cops" are not detectives. Second, Even "Detectives" probably don't spend as much time navigating google maps as some of us do. Thirdly, we don't know exactly how many man-hours were spent searching. Just because the guy who found it only spend a half hour, doesn't mean a hundred other people didn't spend an

For me, this article missed what I think is the point (and complaint) of "bigger" cars, their weight. I don't care that a car is two inches taller or shorter, I care that it handles like I have a car full of fat dudes.

I wouldn't have known which car, or what liter the engines were, but the straight six was unmistakable, and the boxer and V8 were pretty close too. I don't even really know engines except that I drive out straight six engines :)

I may or may not read a text while at a stop light. However, since my phone is also my source of music and GPS navigation, I most certainly interact with my phone on occasion while at stop lights to switch songs or double check that I'm headed the right way. But like a good Jalopnik reader I drive a manual, so setting

Thanks for the level headed response. Certainly MJ isn't right for everyone, and it is right for others. That's part of the problem with treating human illness, our bodies are largly unique with respect to how the react. I had to go through 3 different medications for depression before I found one that worked. Not all

I love the magic finger move at around 2:18. I'd like to know how to do that.

That would be such a fitting end to this car though...

It's all about the money, doctors have just become pill pushers rather than actually trying to help the patients. Marijuana is natural and has no serious side effects, which can't be said for half of the pills they'll give even to kids. Americans are some of the most stressed out people, they could use some natural

If you want to go to the local track, you buy the Venom. If you want to take a girl on a date, you buy the Veyron. Of course, if you can afford one you can probably afford both, so why not?

Honest question: Can he even be charged with anything relating to driving? I understand trespassing, but if I take my own vehicle into my own yard and do donuts it is not (I didn't think) within the purview of an officer to tell me I need a roll cage and 5 point harness.
