I know you've removed yourself from this and won't care, but because I'm a masochist I still feel compelled to respond.

Note that I used the word "similar." And you're allowed to think whatever you want. I'm not here to play thought police. However, I'm also allowed to think what I want. And I think that some KKG wasn't paying attention/didn't care when she gave a shirt away. Sure, there are no letters pictured, but neither of us

I'm not sure that the "let's not" is in reference to.

According to Google translate, it's meaningless in Greek. Literally, people would be wandering around with PVF (the English equivalent of my letters) on them. Obviously, if I was in Greece and saw my letters, I wouldn't freak out (other than being like "hey, cool!" to my traveling companion(s)), but I'm not in

Probably.

Allow me to preface this reply with a disclaimer: I am not Greek and I (to my knowledge) do not know anyone who is from there/is intimately aware of their culture. If, in Greece or to Greek people, American Greek organizations are offensive, then I have never been informed of that fact. If someone does inform me of

My mother was a little sister in a frat and she did get paddled because she was in the frat because of her boyfriend. So it actually was a sexy thing for them. Your comment has reminded me of this and of the fact that I NEVER WANTED TO KNOW THAT, MOM. So, thanks for my daily dose of "things I wish I could

I get what you're saying, but we don't know what her definition of "rush shirt" is. My definition is shirts that are worn for recruitment that are specific to my organization. Her definition may be something like those Panhel shirts that list all the organizations on campus.

If by "no one" you mean "literally every sorority woman I know, myself included," then, yea, no one follows it.

I get that you're making fun of me and that's fine because sororities (and fraternities, let's be real) are ridiculous and don't actually serve a point in the world other than being fun and philanthropic, but DAMMIT IT'S IMPORTANT TO ME. I DON'T KNOW WHY. I DID NOT ASK FOR THIS. IT JUST HAPPENED. BUT HERE WE ARE.

Ok, calm down. I was asking a legitimate question, not trolling. And, no, I'm not from Greece and will not speak for Greek people. If anyone wants to chime in on whether or not my organization is offensive to Greek culture, I'll respond to that and I'll cop to doing anything offensive and try to do better in the

I literally wrote a sentence that said I recognize its absurdity. I literally also wrote that I, too, can laugh about it. I'm not sure what more you want from me.

I'm genuinely unsure of the point of this comment.

You've chosen a truly bizarre hill to die on, friend, but whatever. That's on you.

Why do you put Greek in quotes?

It's absolutely not okay to wear a shirt (or anything else, for that matter) with the Greek letters of an organization you don't belong to. Of all of the completely non-related groups you mentioned, do any pledge those groups? Go through new member training? Get interviewed? Pass a new member test? Go the through

A) No, it's not.

No, they're not. She was wrong.

It's not quite clear what our aggrieved sorority member saw that she didn't like. I have a guess, though.

THANK YOU. God damn, the judgment from most of these commenters who know nothing of what it actually means to be in a sorority is absurd.
