Not entirely true. SteamOS does have driver optimizations for the Steam Deck hardware that weren’t included in the Windows drivers. It’s the whole reason that Valve was like “We’ll give you drivers, but they come AS-IS”.

While this is true, one of the huge things that Steam Deck has for me over other handheld PCs is the fact that I have touchpads. Those have been such a lifesaver for so many games that either:
1. Don’t have controller support at all.
2. Don’t work well without a mouse at least.
3. or there are so many menus that using…
Torrents aren't just used for pirating. Many tech communities use it as an alternate firm to distribute their own software and for a long time Blizzard used the tech to update their games. It's only piracy if the distributor doesn't own the rights to the software being distributed
As much as I’d like the show to stay apart from the larger story, that was already done when Filoni and Lucas tied the Mandalorians into the larger plots during the Clone Wars and expanded that in Rebels. There was never going to be a Mandalorian should without the connections once Grogu and the Darksaber were…
As stupid as it seemed to me watching it then and now - the mass of ships at Exegol were meant to be “the Galaxy” rising up against the Emperor. There were tons of ships from every era and from both TV and Movies. Including Pelta-class frigates, Mandalorian Fang fighers, and Mandalorian Gauntlet fighters are among the…
I’m not sure that it makes sense to put games like Natural Selection 2 on the list. Just because a game is no longer getting content updates doesn’t mean the game is dead or unsupported. Just that no new features are coming in......
So basically it’s like how every game used to be before games as a service took off.
Totally see where he’s coming from, especially from the standpoint of how the term seems to put the genre in a box. Several YouTubers online that focus primarily on JRPGs have tended to complain about JRPGs that are more Action RPG or “Western” or “MMO” feeling and that they “aren’t JRPGs”. Drives me insane.
To me,…
Not to mention that the 5% “doing a shitty job” are not likely spread across every single development team.
DirectStorage is going to be tricky for a while due to a mix of hardware requirements on SSD speed, which has implications for existing users’ motherboard AND SSDs.
It could be a lot of different things:
* A canon version of Lusankya
* A factory building Star Destroyers for some upcoming conflict
* The New Republic disassembling the Star Destroyers for parts/research to build other ships, such as the Nadiri Starhawk-class Battleship
It’s likely that Pershing was part of an earlier project by the Emperor and either Gideon is working for Thrawn/Palpatine OR he wanted to take advantage of that research for his own purposes.
And the tutorials. I don’t think the GFX or tutorials are included in the free version
Some of that is a result of the AAA devs ignoring Valve’s documentation on what NOT to do for things to work in Proton.....
I.E. Making launchers in .NET Framework 4.x instead of .NET 6.x or Qt (both of which are cross-platform).... or simply NOT making launchers at all.
Several EA games are marked as unsupported or…
My therapist has a term for this. It’s a “reason”, not an “excuse”. Just because they do it, doesn’t mean it’s right, but understanding the reason can help to understand the people.
We don’t have to like it, but we do have to accept that not all cultures share the same values. That has always been true and always will…
Corporate malfeseance should be called out, but let’s not mince words. WE, the gamers/buyers/consumers/viewer, encourage this behavior by continuing to buy things from these companies.
I mean Isildur is a Numenorean, so a few hundred years timeline is reasonable for the show. Annatar however may be off limits as that name and part of the story only appears in The Silmarillion and The Unfinished Tales, so they don’t have the rights unless they’ve gotten an exception for that part of the story (they…
That’s not how that works. DRM cannot validate if a game is running on the physical console or not unless it is running at least during the launch of the game. The bigger issue is that Denuvo DRM has been notorious for being horrible on performance and that game devs generally don’t care since once you buy the game,…
In interviews it does appear they were allowed to ask to use certain elements from the other books and got permission in some cases. Not to mention that one of the writers/advisers on the show is Tolkien’s grandson Simon Tolkien
The core issue with Vanguard, more so than other kernel-level anti-cheats, is the level of control it has over your system.
It was outlined to some extent, yes, but not enough that the writers don’t have to fill in blanks. They absolutely have to fill in those blanks or it becomes less a Fantasy show and more a documentary.
As for the First Age stuff, I’d love that as well, but my understanding is that those rights have not been released…
