As much as I don’t like Epic, this is definitely something that needed to be addressed. We can complain about the Play Store and Steam all day long, but neither Google nor Valve have such a stranglehold on their respective platforms that it’s their way or the highway on Android and PC.

The difference here is that Steam, Epic Games Store, Origin, etc don’t block a 3rd party game from being installed outside of their platform as they don’t control the OS of said PC. So if I don’t like Steam’s practices, I can put my game on one or more other stores and/or sell it directly.

My guess, after only hearing about it recently, is that she died from Stress Cardiomyopathy. Also known as “Broken Heart Syndrome”.

We don’t have the context to know for sure, but at the start of AOTC, attempts on Amidala’s life had already been tried. The Queen/Naboo Gov’t may have decided to assign some handmaidens to protect her in light of that threat.

A programmer dug into the crash dump files and information can be found in this article:

everything that we know of. Less than 2 months ago we didn’t know that Paper Mario existed.

Unions unfortunately don’t solve everything, and sometimes make things worse, depending on the situation. Not to mention there’s nothing stopping a company from just slowing pushing unionized workers out.

My Father-in-law worked for Kellogg’s and was part of the union there. The union did a lot of good things for

IceBear, you’re assuming that no one would ever develop weapons/fighters for the express purpose of exploiting weaknesses in the larger ships.

Google did exactly what is expected in Technology. It was never meant to be like other business - tech is a subset of science after all.

I think the difference here is that Apple likes to take ideas, then try and convince the public that they came up with it.

Partial Innovation. The only thing that can really be seen as innovation might be their replacement of Intel. Almost everything else on that list is them trying to just supplant existing tools. Apple is known in the tech community as the company that “Steals ideas and makes the public think they invented them”.

Here’s the thing: orcs were called out as unflattering racist caricatures back in the ‘60s with Lord of the Rings, a decade before D&D.

Being a good person and perpetuating a system that is morally wrong are mutually exclusive things.

I was kind of hoping the New Republic Flagship would be a Nadiri Starhawk-class Battleship (seen in the trailer a few times) that’s built from salvaged Imperial II-class Star Destroyers

That is more a preference issue than anything else. Many Doom players play on PC, and a wide variety of configurations at that. Not everyone, not even the majority, of gamers care about top-of-the-line graphics. This, however, looks like a lazy port or a result of poor optimization in the main game.

IDK, because a lot of planets and military bases in Star Wars have shields to protect from bombardment? And bombarding a target renders it’s capture useless. Might make sense in the case of destroying a rebel base on a desolate planet (Granted we run into the anti-bombardment shield), but not when trying to capture,

Why would you recode a game using a programming language meant for Data Science?

After discussing with the council members, we made the decision to go with the GPL license to ensure compatibility with projects like CnCNet
and OpenRA. Our goal was to deliver the source code in a way that would be truly beneficial for the community, and we hope this will enable amazing community projects for

While I know that Sony and MS do some custom shenanigans with their console hardware, it is still largely an x86_64 platform and what makes it shine through is that consoles are limited to playing games. PCs are designed to do a multitude of tasks and as such the OS software limits access to the hardware to prevent

There’s one major problem in all of this. Not a single vaccine in history has been developed and ready for general use in under 4 years. Part of this is because they have to do long term testing to ascertain if there are any long-term negative effects on the human body before they can just give it to people. How
