I haven’t done anything professional at the hardware level in a long, long time so I wasn’t sure if someone had found some dumb way to hook an OS into the UEFI boot process.

That quote would imply that not all of the behavior people are complaining about is intentional.

It shouldn’t prevent POST since that’s before the OS is even loaded..... unless the WinNT kernel somehow has hooked itself into the UEFI boot process.

With a few exceptions, most companies are re-releasing popular classic titles separately on switch. Examples:

I imagine players of Rocket League, Warframe, Paladins, Fortnite, Overwatch, Diablo III, Dauntless, etc might notice

The big issue I have with Telehealth with my medical provider is that it’s not web-based. It’s Windows-only. We don’t have Windows devices. My Work laptop is a Macbook and my personal system runs an Ubuntu-based OS.
Not such an issue with my Counsellor and Psyc Doctor - theirs are web-based.

I’d be curious to know how we get people to stay at home for extended periods of time. For my family, it’s not a big deal as I can Work From Home, my wife watches the kids, and my youngest has asthma and is at risk.
But for others, it’s not that simple.

For example:

You’re assuming that COVID-19 can be vaccinated. Dr. Fauci and Health experts all over the world have warned that we don’t know if the virus can be vaccinated against.

And 90% of the public outside of hardcore Star Wars fans and critics like EP 9.

I’m under NDA as well, but we still work from home. Every WFH environment I’ve been in utilizes some sort of SSL-based secure connection to ensure traffic is secure between locations.

To add to this, I don’t understand how Star Wars fans are OK with the millenia of Sith Lords attempting to do the very thing Palpatine did, but then get upset when he successfully does it.

And, tell me, how exactly does Activision/EA/etc tell that the Windows 10 PC their clients are installed to is not your physical device, but a system running in a Data Center that you log into to play games?

I’ll be that guy:

I think that was always going to be its nature. The Hobbit had a unique problem that most adaptations don’t have:

I think the point he’s trying to make is that services exist out there, like Shadow gaming, that are exactly that. You just log into a Windows server and install Steam/GOG/etc and stream it through their app and they haven’t been targeted. Same for Steam’s streaming feature. I can install any game I own on Steam and

I think the tricky place, long term, will be for players that just pay to rent a high powered system in the cloud running Steam and use its streaming feature that way. I have a few co-workers that have done that and it works great (assuming you have the internet speed to support it). Not to mention Steam allows users

You have to install the Reforged version (30GB) to use the classic version. It’s a shit show

Except, if you own the original, you get an update that forces you to use the Battle.Net client AND they removed some game modes from the original to make it match the Remastered version

They did, they also updated the terms of use to say that they own anything map creaters make and don’t owe anything.

That and I’m not sure how the Death Star II explosions would destroy Endor (the planet) anyway as it’s a Gas Giant, not a Terrestrial planet.
