@OgilvyTheAstronomer:

And then all the enemy will need to get back are these.

PS3. Make 'em Porsche V8s...You know, the Ferrari fighting ones. Thanks!

But does it come in gold? (With a whale penis skin interior?)

You mean...that's not an ...Opel ...Kadet?

What's a Subaru Imprezia? Is that like a special edition?

I'll get the Bondo! :D

Seriously: Why didn't the cop pull up in front of the vehicle and block its advance?

Haven't they been experiencing structural integrity problems related to age on the F-15s?

A Nimitz class carrier is $4.5 billion. Six Milstar satellites were constructed, each at a cost of $800 million. Thus, the entire batch's cost was equal to an aircraft carrier. (I'm just clearing up a little confusion in your post- it reads like one satellite=one carrier).

How close are we to artificially producing spiderwebs?

Apart from the Jag (which was featured on Top Gear) I've seen 4 of these cars in the past week.

The road to hell...what'd they use to pave it?

All I'm saying is that that's a vague demand you're making, and, what's more, even the best laid plans sometimes fail, regardless of how much ethical forethought has gone into 'em.

And even when the ethics are taken into account it can be dangerous, or turn out to be dangerous down the road. So? What's your point? I'm asking 'cause you're coming off as somewhat of a luddite and I may be exaggerating, but, that's what I'm seeing.

Yeah, if you ask the apes, you don't have a movie, 'cause you have no drama, or significantly less drama, resulting in some ape-human love story or something. And, since this is a movie, it's not representative of real life science or scientists. There is a lot of ethics in science, both formalized and informal.

Actually, it's the math symbol for "results" as in: then no movie resulting in no profits for the movie's investors.

That's way too simple: could this hurt somebody? Sure. But how many will it benefit? That's the really important question. If the only question you ask is "will anybody possibly get hurt?" then you have to answer affirmatively, and then you can't possibly ever create any advancements.
