The main appeal was the horror factor, but since I was not fazed by it I found it boring. The story was just really cookie cutter, and running around pulling switches and pushing buttons made me wonder why the devs didn't include some other form of objective.

Sadly, the first Resident Evil movie is one of the BETTER video game movies, alongside Mortal Kombat and Tomb Raider...
