Yes, that's what I figured as well. The decisions was based on the courts standing to even consider the case, which they decided they did not have. Sotomayor thought they did have standing to make a wider ruling. It is no indication of how she would have voted had they actually taken up the case.

It's just one more step towards equality. It's not as big a step as we'd want, but it's a step worth celebrating.
