The plans to build the device required to decode the information on the DVD's has been thoughtfully encoded on the DVDs. One must simply build the device according to the instructions on the disc in order read the disc.

Love that the robot looked so much like Gort, and that the phone booth so closely resembled the TARDIS.

While the execution was poor, it does make more sense that a robot would graft more parts on if it needed them, rather than climbing into a suit.
