I read through the thread and I just wanted to come in to agree that, yes, it is much more fun to find a shiny as if it were a lottery.
I am now officially afraid for the coming of Christmas this year. Thanks a lot, Santa. =(
I love you, Lindy. Two reasons why:
1) Kanye is a primadonna, but he has some thoughtfulness to him. Having the POTUS, a man you know personally, call you a jackass to push his own career would hurt for a while.
and
2) Jay Chandrasekhar deserves all the notice. Every one of them.
Oh, boy. It's even worse when it's the other way around. Where you send a dragon out on something you think you can handle.
"Oh, a Bellossom? She doesn't have any attacks that could do any REAL damage to my Dragonite. I should be safe."
Bellossom has used Dazzling Gleam.
Your Dragonite cries its way back to its…
Oh, I can't wait until people start using Poison attacks to deal with Fairy pokemon! Ironically, I think Poison damaging attacks may actually decline in the long run since Steel is also super-effective against Fairy and the Steel type is immune to Poison attacks.
Oh, Lord. I know how you feel. I'm so used to using Dragon type attacks on my Pokemon for neutral coverage, so I always headslap myself when I use one against a Fairy. As an identified Fire trainer, however, I feel so happy to switch a Fire pokemon into Fairy attacks.
The Dragon type didn't do it enough for you on fantasy tropes? =(
Dragons have Grass, Water, Fire, and Electric resistances. Combined, that's more than a third of all pokemon with those types, so dragons automatically fare better against their STAB attacks than anywhere else.
You obviously never had enough family road trips as a kid. If the "family" part isn't enough, the "road trip" should have clued you in.
Unlike the other strips, however, BitF stays on-topic almost all the time. It is almost entirely comprised of Nintendo jokes or characters and while many people will not get them or like them, something must be said about a VG webcomic that doesn't veer away from the primary focus like Penny Arcade or Nerf Now.
The hate for all things Michael Bay is so trendy, people have no idea what they're talking about anymore. I was actually about to dub Nerd Rage or Nerf Now! the best ones of this batch, but seeing the Life in Aggro comic changed my mind. It's really well done and the joke needs no explanation.
Aren't the FFXIII titles a lot like this? Genuine curiosity since I've only played the first one and felt that the reason other people hated it so much was because it was turn-based and turn-based RPGs are soooo last gen.
So was I. I tried to soften the blow with the emoticon, but damnit, Cill, your pudding-addled brain must have missed my sense of humour. =(
Christians have been asking this for 2000 years now? I think our official motto now is "wait and see". =P
Ooh! I shall unload my own 5/6 Modest Magicians at this time as well, then. Go, go Team Fennekin!
Well, that's why I said theoretically. Up to that point in the story, you're not really aware of any of these things, but you DO know that you need to come down to the ring world and bring some bloody hell to its inhabitants. Though, yes, Master Chief is not really much of an alien invader rather than an…
And another Kotaku thread ends in understanding and a healthy dose of humility from all parties involved!
I think that's in part because video game enthusiasts tend to be either right-leaning or moderate. I'm not entirely sure WHY that's the case (I have a number of pet theories but they're not backed by any factual information), but Kotaku readers tend to clash considerably against the denizens of other Gawker network…
