Worst character ever. I can see why he was such a fulfillment of juvenile power fantasies, though. He basically just butchered and killed everyone and I was never convinced that he was worth playing or rooting for. Oh well.
Someone in their development team should get a slap on the wrist: it would be perfect, and a big boost in sales, to release Aladdin & Jasmine at the same time. They should adopt that model for any Disney Princess and her Prince. The only thing that makes sense is that they might have a sale on Valentines Day next year…
I want to make a Sailor Senshi D3 cosplay group now. Too bad party size limitations make a full playthrough impossible, since I'd need at least 8 characters to cover the inner and outer senshi.
Lana, the new character, looks generic. Very strange given how many iconic characters are in this franchise. I'd almost say that they should have concentrated on developing more enemies than new player characters.
This episode was funny because I think it was the one that made me think that A) not only did Mars have too many lines, but B) she was shady as hell and C) had bad judgement - best part was where all the other members knew the plan had failed despite not having psychic powers. This is part of why I like that Sailor…
Interesting. Are there any female characters of note in this story? Is the battlefield glamorized or is it treated as rampant brutality fueled by adrenaline?
It's weird that some artists leave Jupiter and Venus out of these re-imaginings. The team feels very incomplete with only two senshi and the princess, and V is the senshi's leader. I wonder what classes Sasha Mutch would have given them.
I think the "lack of expression" complaint is unfounded when it seems to be more of a case that the original anime often employed exaggerated expressions. I thought the way her eyebrows, lips and chin changed to be more expressive than the old style, which resembled "Peanuts" more than the glamour with hints of…
I'd suggest that that "something" is the blatant service of a power fantasy. Being able to tap into that is what keeps games of that genre and novels from a subsection of sci-fi, fantasy and superhero comics still relevant.
But the attacks we saw in the intro looked pretty good; they were split between fully drawn and cel-shaded CG and looked well done. Venus looked pretty cool with the flash of light and impact, while Mars and Mercury's looked quite well done. Jupiter's looked slightly under-powered but the rushing winds and thunder…
The clip of Usagi looking at Mamoru actually made her seem closer to his age, then the school uniforms make her appear. That outfit was closer to teenaged style than how she typically appeared; maybe they'll be 15 or 16 in this version?
I wonder if there would be character creation or customization in this.
I bet he likes it because Nintendo loves releasing hardware toys/accessories/peripherals.
I agree with him. The changes definitely change the thematic appearance of the artwork.
It would be even more awesome if that was Zelda in adventuring gear.
It would be cool if this was Midna's humanoid figure, instead of the imp-like version.
The dragon starts flying, and even circles to breathe fire from 0:52-0:57. Did you watch a different video from what is currently posted?
I like the style, but then again, I was a fan of the manga art style to begin with. It is easy to forget how ugly some of the art used in the older episodes were. The best art was generally used in the opening theme, and for the attack and henshin animations. There were some episodes where the senshi looked chunky,…
