not true... the little “drum sticks” are just the upper arm portion of the wing. Common confusion though.

Regarding MAtt Halpern’s story. I completely sympathize with the woman, although pouring the drink out was too far. It is absolutely not her fault the stand ran out of condiment cups and had not enough backups and it is absolutely not her problem that the stand uses the regular cups for inventory counts. The stand…
Regarding Steve’s. I can see how his geography was dumb, but it’s not that unusual for a person to ask for a part of the brunch menu as a special request. Even with the fish grill it should have been possible (you know in a skillet maybe) to honor the request unless there was some explicit policy against it.
But men do this all the time and people do not even notice. Its also been around forever. Why the heck is it a thing now. You hear older people do it too.
not a Jack Russell. Might be a common problem.
All right its official. I am hooked on this story and must.. MUST know how it evolves. I came out heavy in favor of the professor, and now worry that I was woefully misled, or am being mislead now... I CANT LOOK AWAY.
Well academic freedom means you don’t get to decide what academic freedom is. But yes it does give them extraordinary protections even to the “say whatever they want” category. actually.
Well yes, but College professors (esp tenured) have a think called Academic freedom and have freedom of speech in their classrooms whereever they are employed. There are case laws and stuff.
False equivalency... style vs. content... Louisiana good... you bad... Hulk MAD!!!!!
Actually that is the type of person teaching all types of students in all universities. Have you ever met a college professor who did not lay out a little life advice? And again on dissing Louisiana. Lay off already. It may not be perfect but they have po-boys. That has got to earn them a little respect.
Um that sounds like a pretty cool bi of research actually. Just saying.
Well that flopsy is precisely the fucking problem. You expect people to behave professionally but have not spent a minute considering the possibility that some people may not consider the use of foul language unprofessional... In some environments it just is not. Sorry.
Now you are bashing people who want to teach. You got yourself a mean-streak there flopsy.
Ah okay... well see no one has said that. Let’s shine that up for you.. She would probably say.. Do as I do in a college class and Do as I do a kindergarten class. In college I would say fuck in kindergaten I would not. See.
Yeah .. um you see the problem here is that your idea of proper decorum is not universal. I personally would consider too much decorum in a college classroom to be unprofessional since the goal of college is to provoke thought.
Oh wow.. this just shows complete ignorance of what academia is like. not to mention just being rude.
Why would a college professor be talking to the adult students parents? Oh wait you are back in kindergarte again. I am not sure that you are paying attention.
No one said that that was the only way she could think of to make the material interesting. You pulled that out of your ass. She drops a couple of foul words and suddenly that’s her entire teaching style... Also... that is your second disparaging comment about Louisiana. Why the hate? LSU is actually a world class…
Now you are back to where you were. sigh... “the rest of the civilized world” seriously... Are you honestly so convinced that your personal experience and expectations are universal?
“Working with adults at a university is not a professional environment that requires behaving professionally? My bad. I guess they do things differently down in your neck of the woods.”
