It would probably be in their best interest to protect backers from scammers on their site. You back a project at the risk that they may not achieve what they set out to do, but in the case of someone setting up a fraudulent Kickstarter, it's not their goal to allow that sort of thing to happen. If people get burned

I doubt that. Most developers tend to be pretty humble and I'm sure they would be happy just making "enough" and making stuff people enjoy. It's the publishers and investors who want the money more than anything.

No kidding. Nothing I like more than jumping around and playing, and that's got to be the strangest thing for an adult to do. I miss being able to use my imagination, climb around and act silly. These days, jumping down a flight of stairs or running down a sidewalk is the most I ever get. >_>

If that happens, you simply deal with it and move on.

Not a chance. These won't be hard to spot and take down before anything gets out of hand, and I'm sure if one ever gets funded, the website will take responsibility.

There is a certain amount of common sense that should be used, though. I guess there's a certain, very small failure rate where someone can pull something like this with a really professional presentation and actually sucker a lot of people into donating, but I think if they show their face, actually have concept art

Words. They're hard.

I think what I'm trying to point out is that shooters as a genre are confined to something I don't think they need to be confined to. Few shooters make it possible to do a "no-hit" run or take on something way before the stats say you should, just because you're so good at blocking/avoiding enemy attacks.

Are you sure? I gave the game a few hours but it never really hooked me. The UI and mechanics were pretty confusing and while the gunfights were fairly dangerous, I never felt it was like Dark Souls in terms of difficulty and fairness.

While it technically lacked in megapixels, it still had more settings than the iPhone 4's camera.

I don't think it's a problem any more than something else. How many games actually make murder bad/emotional? Only if it's a main character who's dying is that ever usually brought up. Games ruin their stories in plenty of ways, and killing kids is only one (very rare) one.

I don't think the article is calling for a BAN on child murder in games. In fact, it seems that Kirk would argue the opposite. It's a powerful tool but what he's trying to say is that it needs to be handled more carefully and tactfully.

Honestly, as bad as I sound saying it, I would lump most of those under the same banner. Bulletstorm, Far Cry 2 and STALKER might do a lot of new things but I still think they're milking the same basic, overused mechanics in their core gameplay. Gun fights are at the core of those games. Unlike a shooter like DooM or

Mix Dark Souls with DooM, and have FROM make it happen. A hardcore shooter full of quick deaths and tough fights in an open world with plenty of traps and some really intense moments... that's a shooter I'd love to play.

Errday I'm trollerin'

Kid Icarus IS a new IP.

This was the best color at E3. Still the best color now.

FINALLY they release purple!

Whoops, I guess I made a mistake then. MY game doesn't have a black gradient around the edges so it's not cool enough.

So do I. Tri is one of the best-looking Wii games, and 3G runs it so much better. :)
