I read something once that stuck with me about male privilege and toxic masculinity. I don’t beat women, but all of the men who do make that look like an accomplishment where I can brag that “I’ve never beat a woman.” It wouldn’t occur to me to brag about “I’ve never burned down an orphanage” because nobody does

I should note: this was my interpretation. But if the majority feel otherwise, then she overshot and fucked up.

Isn’t this pretty much satire? I mean REAL satire, not the outrage as satire that certain...ahem... bloggers engage in on the regular. I mean “treat it like the opening weekend of a  movie with two thoughtful female leads” pretty much sealed it.

They searched her vagina for 11 minutes! I don’t mean for this to sound flippant, but, JHC, vaginas are not that big. It does not take that long to search one. (And this is ignoring the fact that, even if their suspicions were true, they should have taken her to a hospital to have a medical professional inspect her.)

I remember the day when young women didn’t let their tampon strings hang out there for all to see... *clutches pearls*

Why would they do that?

The crazy thing is they can’t search someone’s *house* without a warrant. How do they get away with searching someone’s *vagina* on the basis of an odor???

In both cases, if the cops would have brought the ‘suspects’ into the station for the search the charges would’ve been worse and the evidence chain would’ve been a lock. That’s how we know the point is to humiliate/ harm.

It turns out when you give someone unlimited authority and no accountability, they act like sociopaths. You would think that, over time, we would start reining this type of assault in if only out of self consciousness.

Wouldn’t it still be rape/sexual assault even if there was probable cause to believe she was hiding contraband or weapons in one of her orifices? Even if conducted at the station out of the sight of the public, and done as professionally as possible... isn’t it still rape or sexual assault to put one’s hands on or

I hate how right you are.

Yup. They will claim they smell heroin or whatever other thing has an odor. It is not about the marijuana. It’s about power.

If it isn’t weed, they will have another excuse. The problem is the cops, not the “reason” for the search.

I want them both convicted of a sex crime, and forced to register as offenders.

Can we just legalize weed already so that cops can no longer use the faint whiff of it as justification for murder (Philando Castile) and sexual assault?

She’s Black. They “smell weed” on us all the time, regardless of if we smoke or not.

I think you mean Mark Whalburg, who once committed random racist violence to the point where he blinded a guy and has never apologized to the guy, got $64 million.

Which is why this lady just doesn’t bother.

Oh yeah this is attempted murder at the least.
