I have no words for how awful and unacceptable that is. I'm sorry your wife had to experience that.

Wow, your daughter's "friends" sound delightful. I wish I had some helpful advice other than continue to talk to her in a body positive way like you have been. And maybe help her find some new friends.
To be perfectly honest, I wouldn't go there. Mostly because if you plan to be truthful with future partners when they ask you about your past, visiting a sex worker for a lot of women is a deal breaker. Not saying it's right or fair, but I'm saying it may be an issue for many women in your future. Plently of women are…
The end of the year is always a stressful time. It's like that moment near the end of a marathon where you're not sure you can keep going, but the finish line is just right ahead of you. Do your best to take some personal time to breathe and destress or vent if you need to. I find that venting to my mom (she's an…
Sorry your IUD makes stuff difficult. My anxiety meds have really hampered my libido too. But my hubby and I have have a vibrator that's a little bullet on a long cord attached to a remote. He gets the remote, and I get the bullet, and that way he gets to feel like he's involved in creating my climax, not just the…
I totally get where's you're coming from here, but the use of one's underarms and one's private reproductive organs are quite different. And I can understand the parent's frustration with this assumption, it is clearly that, an assumption. She had plenty of opportunities to discuss with the school exactly how the…
But the write up completely fails to document the following from the original article, making its conclusion biased:
She has a right to voice objections, but doing so after she had been clearly notified in advance by the school seems ridiculous. Exactly how much should a school cater to parents who don't bother to read important documents that are sent home for a reason? It's like complaining that your burger has pickles if you…
This write up is incredibly biased. If anyone bothered to read the full article, the parents were supplied with notification of the curriculum, including this shaving information, well in advance. If this child's parents had seen fit to look over that, they would have been fully aware of the upcoming instruction and…
I am also a goat cheese fiend. But I ended up making a big Greek salad (with goat cheese of course) instead. It was way too darn hot in the house for a big bowl of hot pasta.
Ooof, that's rough. I mean, the best you can do for now is counter his opinions with valid reasoning and hope he'll start to change his views. But I think that if you guys continue to be so far apart on issues that seem genuinely important to you, you might need to ask yourself if this is the sort of guy you want to…
Chicken breast, kale, and red peppers over whole wheat mini shells with a little pesto and goat cheese.
Yay, Frosty! Go, little dude, go!
Speaking as an agnostic here: If someone is a true believer in God, then maybe they shouldn't question His/Her wisdom in creating whoever the hell He/She chooses to create? If God is infallable, then it seems pretty freaking arrogant of man to look askance upon that.
Good on you for hosting this group. I recently moved schools to a much more conervative community and I really miss my old GSA kids. They were so active and knowledgeable, and when they weren't knowledgeable about something they conducted their own research and shared it with the club via presentation. Things are…
I just cannot with these people. As a child who was a part of GSA clubs, and now as a teacher who has advised GSA clubs, this makes me want to punch everything in sight. It's a club about support, education, and safety. I've had kids share that being a part of GSA literally saved them from commiting suicide.
Preach. I did WW for 2 years hardcore. I was religious about it and lost 65 lbs. 3 years later, I'm pretty much back where I started. Ugh. I still use a lot of the tools I learned from WW, but it's not always sustainable to have a 1300-1400 calorie diet in the real world.
I'm sorry. That really sucks. =/
Go you! I hope they are great and really help you. I have been struggling with my own anxiety for the last four years and I still haven't been able to take the plunge. I'm not sure what I'm so afraid of. But the idea of having to talk to someone about my anxiety makes me so…anxious. Ah irony. I wish you all the best…
Yes to the black sari, no to flat sandals. Unless they're super classy looking.
