Who says they are thinking EA and Origin are copying Valve? NO ONE.

This just proves that DRM is never an issue whether it exists or not. The service is all that matters.

They NEVER lied about offline play being there in SimCity. Look up all the advertisements and reports. They never once advertised offline play.

Nostalgia is one hell of a drug these days.

Doom 3 DID have old skool run and gun gameplay with modern(ish) mechanics. At the time, there was Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, RTCW, Battlefield, WW2 CoD, Unreal, etc etc.

If EA gave away a Ubisoft game, Ubisoft would be pissed unless they received something in return.

CS players WANT the old version back with HD upgrade.

A scam is the devs won't ever fix it and just abandon it. People tend to take it up the ass and throw their money towards scams and bitch at the legitimate games.

Test it on Counterstrike GO

Companies like Ubisoft would be pissed if EA gave away their games.

The draconian bullshit is NOT the issue. The draconian bullshit can be visible or hidden. It doesn't matter. The service is what matters. Gabe Newell is the one that says services are the way of the future. Every gamer and their mother says every company should be like Valve.

CS players demand an exact clone. They do not want to RE-learn a new game.

Turok

CS players will ignore the new version of CS unless it happens to be an exact clone with an HD upgrade.

Make an FPS game. Not every FPS fan is going to like the FPS game.

SimCity is still one legitimate video game that works AND that is being worked on constantly every day.

That is why you still see CS players playing the older games these days.

Activision ruining series in constant rehashes and gamers love them for it.

CS 1.6 players tend to stay with CS 1.6 since they hate the new upgrades.

I would think a developer who comes from an old school FPS background((or at least stay at that level similar to musicians)) could turn a 3rd person modern gen shooter into a good mix of both worlds
