It seems maybe half the skill system is character attributes. The devs for PoE basically combined both character attributes and skill trees together instead of Diablo 2 style or the more recent release of Torchlight. Plus, these devs really don't explain anything for the players to understand.

Skill trees - gamers being forced to be something they do not want to be especially for online games where constant updates are always changing the skills.
