Everquest wasn't popular for end game. It was popular from the low level start to the max level. The same thing happened with Guild Wars 2. The moment extra end game content was added, players complained about it.

Gears of War was not planned with killstreaks/scorestreaks in mind. The game would have been different if those similar streaks were. Since it is Unreal engine, the devs could bring back the UT/UC special abilities as killstreaks.

A brand new game should be done differently than how the previous game was done. Not having the consumer spend money on something they already bought a second time.
