I’m also an old who still busts out an NES game occasionally, but I love the “living worlds” of modern games and MMOs. I’m not even that social a person, but I enjoy occasionally running into others who are sharing my experience.
I originally played the game on Hard because of an article I believe that I read on this site. I feel like that’s the perfect difficulty for a first playthrough. You still have listening mode, but you have to scavenge quite a bit if you want to be in a lot of gunfights. Otherwise you use the old brick-to-the-head…
I can understand needing an upgrade for Phantasy Star, but Final Fantasy is like candy to me. I can play it straight from the NES without change. I’ve even beaten it with four white wizards.
