Sounds like they became cops to be draped in public glory and adoration all while experiencing the joys of being above the law.

You only hear it over beers in a quiet place. The cops I know who get disgusted by the behaviour of their department leave to work at colleges, transition to consulting, or get their JD and work for the “other team”.

I talked to a therapist once who told me that the problem is that there isn’t any real psychiatric support for officers to help keep their moral compass aligned. Basically, they see so many bad things, day after day, they start thinking that nothing they do can POSSIBLY compare. So little by little, one entitlement…
My VHS was cut off at the beginning, so I never saw the opening titles until the DVD. Relevant to your point the DVD begins with the opening scenes of an entirely different film, a joke added for the DVD specifically I believe. It also has a subtitle track that is a Shakespeare play for ‘people who don’t like the…
In college I took a class on the history of the Middle Ages, and the professor showed us this clip from Holy Grail because he said it was the most accurate description of medieval logic and thought processes he’d ever seen:
I’ve criticized the “oh, the hell with it” ending of this film before (albeit not very strenuously. The whole thing’s a genuine classic), but I’ve only just now gotten the “twist” to it -- The cops had the wrong suspects! Arthur and his knights had no actual horses!
I’ll bite. I’m happy to write stories like, “How to set up a Linux server on your old laptop.” The problem is that the super-enthusiast community I’m speaking to either a) already knows how to do this, b) isn’t looking for that information right now, or c) doesn’t read it
On the tech side of things, I try to balance…

Not universally. My friends and I use it as “Acknowledged. I have seen this message but have nothing more to contribute to it.”
Binge watched it over the past two days. I don’t think it could have been any better. If you would have told me a few years back that, a rough and tough big burly man in my 40s would tear up at the finale of a She-Ra cartoon, I would have called you crazy. But here we are.
Real Talk: Batman was a one-man lynch mob.
My favorite is the social media outcry of them being stopped by police for not having a mask on and complaining about the audacity the police have to stop someone minding their own business and infringing on their rights.
What I love is how ANY and EVERY white person is deputized to enforce their version of the law when they see fit. BUT when the ACTUAL LAW is applied like, say...requiring them to stay inside for their own safety, well then that’s governmental overreach. Lord knows we cannot step on their Constitutional rights.
Hell yes, I remember Bloom County. Bill the Cat was everywhere.
Huh... Seems like draft dodging is a thing in the Trump family. If I sit back and look at this whole things its ridiculous. I’m 42 and thus old enough when Trump was usually on all of the trashy magazines at the checkout line at the grocery store. I even had a large book of all of the Bloom country comics ( remember…
GOD do you liberals have to make everything partisan just beca-
Ahahaha j/k Trump’s absolutely an incompetent mass-murderer and for as long as we’re stuck with him, we might as well play some fun games and shout his incompetence as often as possible.

This is NOT something to worry about.
