Amen to this. I have worked several contracting jobs, and it sucks. I've been told I was on for a year, and laid off after I finished the big project weeks early, with no warning whatsoever. Happened twice. Then you get excluded from company meetings, the free food, etc. We should change the laws on this.

When I first started, I always wore business casual to this very casually dressed company (people come in with everything from suits to tshirts). After I was established and proved my worth after a few months, I usually wear a tshirt and jeans.
