Yeah, I saw this coming from the moment the changes were suggested. I have no idea how the Overwatch team didn’t expect this.

Yeah, I’m convinced that Blizzard has a separate team that updates the games than creates them. They usually start off fairly ok, then they tweak and tweak, but usually don’t make things better.

I hate that I never understood all the love for Banner Saga. Something in it just never hooked me. I liked the choices and the strategy wasn’t bad. I think the story just sapped me of joy.

Yeah! This seems like a simple concept. Good comedy, is funny. So all those complaints at needing to be PC is really people just saying “you’re not funny ENOUGH to make that joke”.

Whenever I’m reminded that Seinfeld complains about having to be too PC, it just tells me that Seinfeld’s jokes aren’t as funny anymore and

if it’s white people you’re trashing we’ll let anything slide and then defend it. If it involves anyone else or it’s mocking a liberal...unleash hell.

“For what it’s worth,” Whalen said, “it seems his subscriber count hasn’t gone down by much.”

I hate that combo so much. It’s tanks and turrets everywhere. This combo with a Bastion is really powerful. Too much health to take out from afar and too much instant damage to get close.

I never considered something like this. Now I kind of want to see this played with a table full of autistic players. I’m just curious how a game like this might play out in that situation.

That kinda sucks but is also not a bad idea. I usually stop playing when the quality of players starts to drop but I guess if I had a 6 stack it makes sense that that would be the best time to play.

Tough call on the best way ‘fix’ this.

Hey if Blizzard says you can’t play with friends that are too far away from your

Yeah, that Mei outfit was the one item that really convinced me to buy some boxes and I got it pretty early so everything after that was icing on the loot box cake.

Hmm, I was kinda hoping for more concrete “this is what a cheater looks likes” footage. Instead, they just say that the chat says the player is a cheater and one guy ‘confirms’ it.

Ah the good ole “did it for the lolz” reasoning.

We all know a guy who thinks horrible things are absolvable or insignificant because it was just for the lolz.

Let’s just leave it to the genuinely great comedians.

This all sounds just like people who play slot machines and the lotto. They all think there is some system behind the scenes doling out randomness that is somehow trying to trick them. When it’s really just a simple random number generator that is uncaring to their plight.

Ah humans, always trying to give things

Sweet, that’s a solid solution.

I’m more surprised at how many people don’t seem to understand the solution or the problem and have thought up “ways around it” that make no sense. Might be time for a Kotaku article about cybersecurity.

Another great one Evan! As a black person who works in videogames you hit on all the major hurdles.

You made me recall the first game I worked on, in it, we had a group of protagonists and the black one ends up dying first in the storyline, even though they all ‘die’ eventually. Everyone made a point of how “odd” it is

They’ve at least tried to improve the loot system. Now special event loot boxes are guranteed to have at least one special event item. It’s definitely made the process much less rage inducing.

Wowza, well I bet you’re one of the big fishes they’re always looking for to keep the game profitable.

$5 is a good amount too, I just know I’d want more boxes if I didn’t get enough stuff to play with from that. With $50, I’m usually tired of opening boxes by the end and have plenty of new stuff to check out.

Yeah exactly, I never feel bad about spending the money. I get what I want out of it and I really feel like $50 is well worth the quality of content they pump out and those artists gotta eat.

I usually buy $50 worth of loot boxes when an event happens with some items that I want. I figure that if I play Overwatch a lot, that money is the money I saved by not buying other games for the last ~3 months between events.

I skipped the Olympic and Halloween events and splurged for the Halloween and New Years
