Trailers need to get an annual inspection here, so it's almost the same cost as a rusty old f150... At least that was my justification at the time😃

It looks like what would happen if a Mazda3 and a Panamera had babies.

If an ā€˜autonomous’ car requires perfect roads and signs to function properly, then it sounds like the fucking car needs work.

To be clear, tesla didn’t sell 115000 3s in a day - 115000 people put down a refundable $1000, which isn’t quite the same.

Let’s also remember that there will be a percentage of people who ask for a refund, and another percentage that won’t be able to put financing together when the time comes. And then you have people that reserved 2 or more cars and will amend that number. And of course if you see significant delays in production a…

Sure but refundable pre-orders and actual deliveries are two very different things. It will be interesting to see how many people wait it out and actually end up driving one of these things. 2 years is a looong time.

It’s missing something.

ā€œsoldā€ isn’t the correct term though. They will have a hard time delivering those too. I reserved. I can get my $1000 at any point if I choose too. Big difference between $1000 now or $35-50k now.

Is your wife a double amputee?

ā€œDope assā€ I guess it’s safe to say that Jalopnik has hired my 13 yr old son.

okay, one for when I want to know when the doors are locked and one for when I don’t. Better?

That’s about what I expected. I love Aston Martin’s but not because of how fast they go or how reliable they are not. I love them because they make me giddy just looking at them. It is like trying to explain, with math, why you love you significant other. Wasting your time.

Nothing is leaked because there is no car currently. I bet Elon is just going to show a clay model concept of the car on Thursday. The $1,000 that we are all putting in as a refundable deposit is likely just going to be used as a kickstarter to actually design the hardware and build the car. That’s why there are no…

ā€˜Eff them!

There are Camry apologists in these comments.

I’m still wondering why you haven’t bought a Camry for $500, and turned it into something fast and exciting. Mission: Jalopossible.

I am grateful to Toyota...Nissan...and Honda. If it wasn’t for their competition, we would all be driving $35k Pintos and Vegas today.

Name checks out. Carry on.

Having recently bought a similar ā€˜boring’ car after driving fairly unique vehicles all my life, I love it. Doing my daily driving in a car that’s indistinguishable from 3 others in the parking lot and needs no more maintenance than an oil change every 10k is pretty fantastic. I’m pretty sure I’ll have something like…

I’m excited but more for the potential of body styles down the road.
