Make this game multiplayer and I’d buy it / purchase ALL the microtransactions for it in a second. As things stand, this game is just a lonely single-player Minecraft clone ...in space.

Sounds like a bad DM calling the shots. When I DM I make sure the story keeps moving, one way or another. If the party is in town, the questgiver NPC starts pushing them to stop wasting time as his/her matter is of great urgency. If they’re in a swamp, six-legged crocodiles and marsh wolves start closing in on them…
