My Mom eats salad (which she makes at home with no dressing) for 12 meals a week. The same salad for lunch and dinner. I can’t stand it when I go home because after one day of the salad I want something MORE. For her, though, she needs a reason to have something other than the sad salad. It literally comes down to her

One of the most chilling cinematic psycho scenes of all time it in Fatal Attraction. Glenn Close takes her lover’s son to a fair. They have a great day together. The kid isn’t harmed. But for that entire time we know that the child could have been (this is after the famous bunny boiling scene, so we know that this

First of all, I don’t think that the pirates raped women thing was actually as common in real life as it was in fiction. But even if it was common back then, that doesn’t mean that it belongs in your story unless there is a reason for it. If it is a story about rape and the aftermath (like Speak) then put it in there.

It isn’t about offending or triggering. It’s about avoiding lazy tropes because we want to be better writers. And also about avoiding media that use lazy tropes because we want better products. (But if in the quest for better media we also happen to avoid offending people SO MUCH THE BETTER).

It needs to be eliminated as a plot device. And certainly as a way to add drama. But the fact is that many people (men and women) are survivors of rape and sexual violence. I’d hate to live in a world where fiction acted as if these crimes never happened, because that isn’t a solution either.

You are right. Married parents don’t agree 100% on how to raise their child. Why on earth would a divorce make them more likely to see eye-to-eye on everything. If you don’t like something you say why and then you let it go unless someone is actually in danger.

Generally, they aren’t going to have child support in this particular situation. In ART (assisted reproductive technology) situations the general trend is towards focusing on the intent of the parties, which in this case is demonstrated via the contract. The contract in this case is one that says in event of breakup

I suspect that this has 100% to do with not being able to tell what the students are reading when they are doing it on a Kindle. You can’t lecture kids on why they shouldn’t be reading that trashy young adult fiction (or the biography of a popular celebrity, or whatever else you are reading) if you can’t see the

I’m a TCM addict (it is pretty much what I keep on in the background when I am puttering around the house) and his “No! We had a deal” makes me laugh just thinking about it.

My former boss was ranting about how a female co-worker had to leave early to pick up her sick child from school. “It’s irresponsible. I have a kid and you don’t see me ever having to go pick her up because she’s sick.”

I had to deal with some grandparents rights stuff as part of my work (spoiler: you don't have rights as a grandparent). But one of them was just going on and on about how cruel it is that her son doesn't allow her to see the grandkid because that child is missing out on all of the life lessons she can give.

I'm also childless by circumstance (which it sort of sounds like you are) and the thing I HATE is when people tell me my reason for not having kids. "Oh, it's too bad you don't have kids but you have decided to focus on your career."

I hate honeyfunds. It isn't jealousy.

You are right.

As long as the other person is okay with the unequal treatment I still don't see the issue. I'd understand if she kept her "no blowjobs" stance secret. But if she says that she refuses to give blowjobs (no matter what the reason) and her partner is cool with it, then it seems like it is fine.

I still don't think that is selfish if the other person is cool with it.

Most offenders (especially young ones) aren't swayed by harsher punishments. There's a lot of study on this in the field of Law and Economics (Gary Becker's work is really the place to start). Even though a 10% increase in the probability of detection should result in the same reduction in crime as a 10% increase in

I hate the "tone" argument because I do not know how I sound. I mean, I fundamentally don't. I have a sensory processing disorder that means that I can't really tell the tone of volume of my voice. Like, I have to go by the pressure in my throat to try and tell volume because me ears here it all pretty much the same.

I think you remember the great sketches and forget the, well, forgettable ones. But when you go watch full episodes it is a mix of great and really bad stuff. It is sort of the nature of having a weekly live show. You don't have time to get all the sketches to be perfect. The show goes on no matter the quality of your

My CD collection is Shrek and Shrek 2 soundtracks and all of Hilary Duff's stuff (including the Lizzie McGuire movie for Why Not?).
