Troof. A brick by any other name is a brick.

Same. Every car I’ve had, save for a 997, turns the fog lights out when the high beams are on.

I thought this whole deleted posts thing was a legal/contractual issue stemming from Univison only being approved by their board to purchase Gawker’s assets (all other posts) and not its liabilities (the deleted posts), as opposed to a political thing.

Yes, once. Then, no.

Feral pigs are a problem down there, they tear up the native flora and cause erosion problems. Ten years ago, I had a Texas rancher offer to pay me for each feral hog I shot on his property.

Practice make perfect! You don’t stop riding a bike just because you fell off...

I say Tezla too, on purpose - and I have no idea why or where I picked that up.

My brother dated this girl that vehemently swore that her last boyfriend drove a “Ford Fiso”. One day, after repeatedly telling her that there was no such thing, they pulled up behind a Ford pickup and she triumphantly declared “Look, a Fiso! I told you so.” It was so amazing he couldn’t bring himself to correct her.

They still have some kind of resistance sensors in there as shown in the video. 60lbs at least won’t cut your fingers off. Sure it won’t be fun, but his is on par with power mini van doors and most power tail gates.

Nobody was holding his beer. Did you see how many cans floated out of the back window!?

You feel less safe? Really try to take in what the other commenters are telling you in this thread.

The risks you outlined are mostly related to their cars, but this factory is a battery play. Even if their cars flop, someone else will bring the EV mainstream and the world is going to need a lot more batteries anhyhoo. It’s as good of a hedge as you can get.

I totally agree. It’s like riding in a car with a new driver, all of the time. Eventually there’s going to be a mistake... I hope you’re paying attention. I don’t know that I could do that every minute I’m riding passenger.

Nah, that's just confirmation bias. Plenty of smart people are drawn to things that go boom, it’s just that you don’t hear about ‘em because the clever ones don’t tend to blow themselves up. Heh.

I agree with your points, but I push back on the idea that Tesla rushed the feature for marketing purposes. I feel like they probably got autopilot developed to the point where, on average per mile, using the feature is substantial safer than human drivers. The calculation to release was simply “this will net save

Meh. My 997 911 randomly did the exact same thing this morning... I started it up and a cloud of thick smoke poured out. Startled by its costly potential I thought, “HOLY SH-” followed by “... oh wait... I forgot that I don’t care if an engine killing bearing failure is underway.”

I’d imagine low production volumes on the various exotic car parts are responsible for some of the added cost relative to a mass market vehicle. They’d need to amortize similar (or greater) engineering and tooling (setup) costs into a smaller batches of production parts.

Mitch posthumously approves this comment.

That looked like some kind of technical problem, maybe a glitch in the vehicle stability control system?
