I've got a 350Z and I'll agree with you about the exhaust note being awesome. BUT only from 1k RPM - 3.5k RPM, after that it sounds like total doo-doo. Like shaking a coffee can full of nuts and bolts.

Totally agree with the VQ. While not always pleasant in practice that off throttle noise super distinct.

350Z/G35 - I'm not saying they always sound good, but that off-throttle/engine braking noise the VQ makes is as distinct as automotive sounds come. Even people that don't know cars know that sound.

I'd argue that while the BRZ and the MX5 have an identical ethos, they can't really be compared. I doubt there will be many cross shoppers. Now if Mazda would just make an MX-5 Shooting Brake, that would be a different story...

Just to clarify - The Retina MBP doesn't really have resolution settings, you can only adjust the size of things on the screen. So right now I've got a crappy LG display plugged into the MBP, but I'm able to scale the stuff on the Retina display up so it appears to be the same size. There's still a quality gap.

I did this the other day with a Retina MBP, 3 external displays and put a 1080P YouTube video on all 4 displays. It ran seamlessly. I was really surprised. When you plug something into the HDMI port OS X switches into mirror mode, but you can manually switch it back in the preferences panel.

I had no idea they updated the Avenger, I refused to take one every time I rent based on my experience with a 2010 model. That new interior looks pretty nice actually.

The current Dodge Avenger. Its worse than the previous Mitsubishi Eclipse base version. The engine is awful, the handling is terrifying, the interior is a sea of disgusting plastic and every rental car company is full of them.

I've probably had a dozen iPhones, iPads and Macs replaced at the Apple Store. I try to be super nice and have never had a problem as long as they have a replacement in stock.
