Fair enough. I think that her thought experiment worked best in a small, self-contained experiment. And yes it was interesting to learn about different factions. I just thought that when the camera zoomed out, so to speak, the concept became less theoretical and grounded itself poorly in a realistic scenario.

Seriously? I thought the "big reveal" at the end of the 2nd book was monumentally stupid and patently ridiculous. The books were both fun reads and I have no trouble with gimmicky concepts in (especially YA) fiction, but the world building was very sloppy.
