@greyseal: You mean the one that requires a wire connected to a computer to sync your phone? Yup my Android device rarely needs to get within 10 feet of my computer and that's usually cuz it's in my pocket when I go over there.

@NanorH: That's the stock Android notification bar. The ones in sense and touch wiz look alot better. I'm running Cyanogenmod on my EVO, and that was the stock bar. He has an option in there to turn it to a black bar with white text, and it's amazing how much better it looks in black with the same icons.

@CaptainJack: I can put 1x1 widgets by 3x1 widgets. What launcher are you using that has that wacky limitation?

@Sprzout: I love my Uverse in orange County, CA. I'm no AT&T employee either. In fact I used to work for a cable company. My friend who had to leave his Uverse service at his former apartment loaths his Cable service with comcast, and wishes he could get Uverse.

@Platypus Man: Google Voice Search will only call names that are saved in your Gmail account, and you have to say it the way you have it saved there. So in my case I have to say last names since I store first and last names as well.

@Donly1: Some of first archos tablets that used Android didn't have the Android marketplace, and there are other devices out there like this so I assume those are the devices they're mentioning.

@pangapanga: I agree and if your apartment is too small for an actual grill, buy a small hibachi grill or a portable grill that uses those small propane tanks and do it on real fire with a stainless steel spatula with wood handles. That's the way a single man should cook.

@Webran61: This is probably the best explanation I've seen of QOS. It's technical enough, but still keeps it in fairly plain language. [vonage.nmhoy.net]

@GuyWithDogs: It really depends on what type of router you have. Most residential routers have pretty bad QOS controls or none at all, and won't let you tweak much, except set a certain device to have priority which is not what you want. You want to be able to give services priority. Having a router with dd-wrt is

@Cody Reynolds: Why does it suck for EVO owners? I say the more great Android devices out there the better.

@Sturm: You need to work on the qos settings on your router to make sure your router is saving enough express upload bandwidth for your phone calls. I run VOIP phones in my office and in 4 remote sites, and control of upload bandwidth at the router is the key to great quality phone calls. You don't need much

@RuckingFetard: As you both have proven touch screen vs. hardware keyboard is all about preference. Personally I'm happy with the touch screen. I know I can type a bit faster on a hardware, but the extra thickness and sliding mechanism that makes the phone feel cheaper isn't worth the trade-off for me.

@Vexorg: Exactly I'm glad I get a few seconds to cancel it when I accidentally say the wrong name.

@Rainer Thomas Paskiewicz: If you already have enough reasons to get an Android over another phone aren't more great reasons just icing on the cake?

@Ian Logsdon: It's way more accurate than google's voice transcription. Or atleast it is working better because I know I'm talking to a device that's transcribing my text.

@Meh: I think your avatar icon says more than anything I can.

So this update raises the IQ of the TMobile "Genius" button, or as the rest of us call it the search button.

@mecha2142: I had that problem too on my rooted evo with CM6. I had to uninstall it (probably need root access) then restart and then I was able to download the new one. Same with the updated google search widget. Now with chrome to phone all I had to do was uninstall and install from market.

@geolemon: Some games actually require to be on a certain level of firmware.

I'm not a casual gamer myself, but the amount of times I use my PS3 as compared to my 360 means I know the pain of the PS3 update just the same. I don't know how Microsoft makes the updates so small and fast, but it makes the 360 awesome. Also not just system updates, but game updates are atleast 1/10th the time of
