Yeah, it’s kind of weird but most Japanese studio prefer working on Japanese hardware. I mean, there are only 102,931 X-Box One owners in Japan. (As of Feb 19, 2019). Whereas, there are 8,024,939 PS4 owners in Japan. (As of Jul 1, 2019)

If anything Death Stranding was a huge feather in Guerilla’s cap - Digital Foundry pronounced it a ‘brilliant tech showcase’, with extremely stable visuals and framerate - and that’s all from a brand new studio with basically no run up time working on a huge AAA game.

Technically it’s less shuffl-y than it looks - as I’ve been made aware, Hermen Hulst was already Vice President of Worldwide Studios, so he just got promoted when Yoshida moved to his new position.

Yes, that was a factor in THIS generation, but Sony has been a dominant player since the original PS1.  Their missteps with the (initially overpriced) PS3 and the rise of the Xbox 360 fooled people into thinking that they would lose that dominance, but as you have seen, that isn’t the case.

I recently bought one after seeing the new footage for The Last of Us Part 2 and am playing through some of the exclusives. Loving it so far
