I don’t think that has anything to do with this game, that’s just a thing Gamestop does now.

Guerrilla and Suckerpunch mid tier please thats total nonsense.

I sort of get the feeling that this will be a lot like Mad Max, where reviewers were mostly unimpressed but lots of players who had time to play it leisurely and take breaks ended up liking it quite a lot. This isn’t a “reviewers are dumb” comment, mind you; this review is well written and I appreciated it.

its mostly due to the old movie days when romero and its rival I think declared wars on zombie movie and also the Word.

Right, I felt this was a critique on the genre as a whole, using the game as a backdrop. Yes, it’s been done over and over, but how it’s done is what’s important.  Does it stick the execution?

Is this a review of a videogame, or a review on the standard AAA post apocalyptic game template? It seems to me this piece focuses more on criticizing the tropes it uses than in the game itself.

My bad, thanks — for some reason my memory confused the huge scope of the project relative to what they’d done before with a bigger lack of experience than they actually had.

Not even close.

The only other console this game may land on is the PS5. MediaMolecule is owned by Sony.

Sony previously helped fund and publish the original LittleBIGPlanet back when, and they ultimately bought developer Media Molecule in 2010, so no, Dreams is a first-party title and won’t likely ever be seen on other platforms.

That's an incredibly cynical take

It’s by the people who made LittleBigPlanet and people have done amazing things with that, so it’s hard to imagine this won’t match that

The game has been in beta now early access and people are only beginning to scratch the surface of what the engine is capable of. No mans sky situation this is not.

lol glad I could help. I literally blew my own mind. Still in shock about it lol.

using AMD Ryzen and Navi based hardware it will no harder to program for than any other system. Its damn near a standard PC at this point. The will probably even use the Vulkan api for the graphics.

SSD and backwards compatibility are the key features for me that’ll make it worth an upgrade. I’d love to have games load as fast as they do on my pc, or faster. I’d really love being able to continue playing the games that I own without having yet another console plugged in and idling on my shelf.

It’s been almost 25 years and I just realized the Playstation logo is PS....all this time I thought it was a P with a fancy design flourish at the bottom. Wow.

Well well well. I wasn’t expecting this, to be honest, but it looks like they managed to put in almost everything I wanted for the next generation, including things I was certain we wouldn’t get, like an SSD and friggin’ ray tracing.

I think they meant that the ray tracing technique could be used to create more accurate travel in sound. I.e sound waves instead of light rays.

Gasp...
