Or...maybe...how about giving it to the one single Sports car under the Toyota name.  The GT86.

I say, get a Camaro SS or a Mustang GT. Both are great cars, and can likely be had new for $35k. Get it with a manual and you’ll have one of the last of a dying breed: A Naturally aspirated V8 with a proper transmission.

Personally I prefer the Camaro (pre-19 styling), and have been pining after an SS 1LE (which might

I’d say the bigger sin is never featuring a 180SX/Silvia.

Notice how it’s always magically just rained during most chase scenes? This makes it easier to get sideways while not actually going very fast, and to me it’s just lazy. They will often film chase scenes on wet surfaces and then speed them up, and it just doesn’t look quite right.
Just hire some pro’s to actually drive

Yes it does. As I understand it your point was that people will not be as likely to switch away from SUV’s because they get better gas mileage than they used to...but so do cars, so the cost/benefit equation is still largely unchanged.

Just saying you would still save gas money by owning a car over a SUV.

Learned the hard way: to not use a 1/2" drive torque wrench to measure anything under 10 ft/lbs (learned on a cam bolt, and also broke an easy out, which ended up costing about $250 to remove, on top of having to unbolt the whole head).

Except so do cars, so the gap is only slightly smaller.

Maybe your math is a bit off. Remember that a big gas guzzling SUV is a lot more expensive than a sedan, let alone a fuel efficient economy car.
Assuming they are trading in a used SUV for a new car they are also getting a new car out of the deal. Their guzzling SUV was worth whatever it was worth regardless of weather

This is a good choice, especially since most other automatic cars within budget would be shit.
However to get a Cayman for $35k or less you’re still talking a used ~2014 with 40-50k miles on it.
It would be a stretch when you include maintenance.

Compared to my Beat Even an M3 looks like the M8.

Look I don’t think anyone needs to show a bank statement or paycheck.
The point is the tax break that 80% of the nation got was a pittance, especially in comparison to the benefits that are now on the chopping block in order to fix the massive deficit spike we got. We aren’t cutting our massively bloated military

This is precicely the problem with the current capitolistic system moving forward. As has been happening for a long time with more automation more money will be funnelled upward to the top 1% and mostly the top 0.1%.
You ask when “did” it become the Governments responsibility to support the citizens, but for the most

JustWait for your tax returns.

1) GM is still keeping some cars.
2) The stock market loves to reward investors by punishing the working class.

Like squatch said, the MPG on fuel isn’t as important as it’s not often used.
My uncle has a 1st gen Volt and only puts in gas on long trips, and otherwise will go months between fillups. He says it’s a lot cheaper to drive than the 1st gen Prius he had before it. Even on the highway the Volt gets respectable fuel

I’d say the new Volt looks more like a normal car instead of something wierd.  I think it’s a good looking design and the car is objectively better in every way.  But GM didn’t advertise it well, and dealers only want to push crossovers.

Yes this makes no sense.
Even with car sales down the Cruze outsells the Sonic almost 5 to 1.
Last years production of 184,751 for the Cruze is nowhere near what would normally be considered for axing.

This is true, however the Chevy Cruz outsold many other small/cheap cars that are not necessarily on the chopping block.
