I agree completely. I am very confused by people who want to look at any aspect of a charity besides results (which many charities don't even bother to measure, in my limited experience). Why does it matter if the CEO makes a lot of money? If given a choice, I would give my money to a charity that spends 90% of

I'm very glad to see that they're recognizing the issue, and I wasn't aware of the overheadmyth website/program/plan. Thank you for that.

Some psychophys of arousal in women stuff, and of late more attention models of arousal, with a dash of risky behavior research thrown in for good measure. I'm happy to be more specific in another forum, if you'd like.

Depends on the study and what you're doing. In the example listed in the article, the primary issue would be whether or not you wanted your colleagues to think of you naked in an fMRI tube, masturbating away. With a pure physiology study, being a participant in your own study would probably be OK, but might get you

And a chipper hello to/from another real life sex researcher! And people really vary in how much they want to hear about the research...

On principle, I agree that anything Axe-adjacent is very likely creepy. I was being pedantic, really, about the anti-feminist thing, since I'm not sure I think that anything creepy is inherently anti-feminist. Also, is it bad that I look at those pictures and my actual first thought is that my hand would be warm

Those seem like important questions for consumers to consider before buying a car. For example, there's no Apple store near me, and yet I buy Apple products on-line, knowing that service may be complicated. Should Apple be prevented from selling to me?

I'm not sure I see how that's anti-feminist... Weird, yes, but is it antifeminist because, unlike the product described in this post, it isn't clearly done by a woman?

Is this an evo psych study? I don't see any references to evolution.

Yes, but they only do it for sexually transmitted diseases. Not diseases transmitted via other channels. I'm all for minimizing the spread of disease, but it seems awfully puritanical to pick only disease spread via this one particular channel. Athlete's foot at your gym? No notification. Non-genital HPV - do they

I actually agree with you about the risks of estrogen and estrogen-like compounds, both on us and on other mammalian life. My question was really more about what works in filtering it out - which you address in another comment. I think that the dilution rates (discussed below and above) are not high enough for my

I hope he does; if there are studies that I missed, I'd love to read them.

Did. Got a lovely Scientific American article that says that the claims that it can have never been proven. Did a Google Scholar search, and found no evidence that it is effective. Do you have evidence that it works beyond manufacturer claims?

Thanks for posting this and providing a reputable source (who in turn sites other sources).

Thank you very much for posting this.

I think your concern is a reasonable one, but I haven't seen any evidence that activated charcoal removes estrogen. If you have a source, I'd love to read it. Thanks!

Correlational results are still results. I agree that a single study that uses correlational methods should be disregarded. I don't think that dozens should be, though. The data is not subjective, nor is it a jumble, nor is it impossible to test. There are entire fields of academic research dedicated to this

We could discuss about whether it makes you a terrible person or not, but the evidence very strongly says that it doesn't make your child better behaved, happier or more successful as an adult. So why are you doing it, again?

I always thought I wanted a floor-level bathtub or hot tub until I tried one. Even for a sprightly (well, kind of) person like myself, they were surprisingly difficult to get in and out of. I think they're very pretty, but not very practical.
