I loathe in-app-purchases unless it's a legit expansion of the base app. Or, as I saw last night, a single IAP option to buy the developers coffee for $0.99. Which I thought was pretty damn cool.

Maybe "Per Se" has been trademarked. ;)

If you look at an iPhone or Macbook teardown, you'll see that the interior of the case is basically a battery that also happens to have a phone or computer crammed in there, too.

Be careful critiquing anyone using 50 tweets to tell a story rather than just linking to that shit.

There will always be people who want to get angry at, and be dismissive of others. It makes them feel powerful and discerning. Yelp allows them the opportunity to explain how their tastes are refined and the poor restaurant couldn't meet their personal high standards.

It's not always that simple.

Um, no.

They're Canadian.

A way to disable the "Turn off Airplane Mode to..." modal popup.

Minor quibble: Nest is a smoke detector. Heat (fire) detectors are explicitly not approved for life safety applications. You can throw in combo units, but never, ever just a heat detector - outside of special applications (attics, furnace rooms).
