We can’t hire enough people with a materials science background. We don’t need PhD’s, we need young bachelors level engineers with enough plasticity left to learn other process development and Six Sigma skills.

Even a technician with a 2 year degree and a materials testing background is almost impossible to find.

We’re

You could say it has....plasticity...deformed.

You gotta heat it up then cool it quickly just like a normal sheet metal dent.

I don’t think they’ll match the 8 year warranty, being 1/2 the price you’d have to figure out when it would equal out for the Bolt.

It’s a stupidly posh city. People don’t want to be driven around in a beater Crown Vic. Hell even in Detroit people don’t want to get into some smelly old oil smoking cab.

So you found a wealthy guy, probably an expat, who can maintain and import a few old Dodges. You realize how far beyond the average person/local government that is.

You’ve seen the exception and you’re trying to show it as the rule.

I’m not saying the firetruck won’t help, I’m saying that without a clear follow up plan

Deleted.

This is completely unsustainable development.

Unless they shipped over, or have arranged for supplying maintence parts and most importantly training this thing is going to be sitting in the weeds within a year.

This is the classic US mistake, we still don’t know how to provide long term aid.

Did you ever run it in sub zero? Around Detroit we hit those temps a few days a year. I need at minimum 35 miles to pick one up on the used market. Luckily when it’s that cold we don’t get snow to complicate things.

So what you’re saying is you want a ride in my diesel Benz? Alright, hit me up. I’ll be up there Saturday morning.

That Speedway just north is getting sketchy by Birmingham standards.

What’s cold weather to you?

This is why I don’t like the DSG transmission. They’re “not serviceable”. That’s a bit of a lie but the sentiment applies. I’d like to repair the motor or controller that died in the Drive Unit, not replace the whole thing when all the gears, seals and other mechanical bits are fine.

My 2005 WRX wagon has 230k on the original wheel bearings. It’s all about how you drive/if you tow.

It’s the classic “Convenience Cost”.

Whoa, logical fallacy there Batman.

What is and what looks sleek is not good for visibility. The more upright the pillars the better.

It’s not just that, it’s how upright they are. One short vertical blind spot is much better than a long sloping obstruction.

The visibility out of my W115 is unparalleled. The curved windshield helps.

What’s new jellybean?

Exposed carbon bits? Leather you’re not supposed to actually touch?
