The 100k timing belts are available for the AHU/1Z, I’ve installed several hundred of them without issue.

Parts for the older motors are getting a bit scarce, injection pumps especially. The ALH electronics are a fair bit more complex however not being plug and play Central Electrics II.

All you VR6 guys don’t get it. You live in your own little world divorced from all other watercooled VW-dom.

The AHU is a superior motor all around, can make SIGNIFICANTLY more power with only a few bolt on mods and will make that power reliably for a very long time.

Welcome to every VW project ever. It’s not a big deal if you’ve built a few Mk3's before, the Corrado specific stuff is not that difficult to find.

This is almost old hat at this point for us old school TDI Club kids. The motor alone is worth $1200 min.

It makes sense because it returns to an unobtrusive center position. If it stayed forward or back it impinges on key center console space limiting occupant access to controls.

Hellcat buyers are not cross shopping the Viper.

Porsche 911 Turbo disagrees.

I DD a Ford.

On my GDI turbo?

That’s a terrible idea in a car with ABS controlled brake portioning. It’s not 2002, you can’t do shit like that any more.

How does left foot braking on the street work when the ECU cuts torque almost immediately when both the brake and throttle are engaged?

Which is terrible. Plastic can’t seize up.

Metal is not always better! Materials science matters!

Definitions matter.

If you can classify the AR-15 as something special it’s easy to “other” it and make it seem uniquely dangerous. In fact it’s the exact same as any semi automatic magazine fed hunting rifle.

If you want to ban every single semi automatic magazine fed hunting, sporting and self defense rifle say so.

Look at the difference in torque curves, look at total power under the curve. The EB has significantly more torque. You’re going to have a tough time reaching that peak torque number with the v8 never mind over a wide RPM band.

Does it really matter? It depends on what, where

Is that rule for the last lap only? Or for your last lap, be it at hour 2 or hour 24?

Remember they’re Gawker, you can’t expect much.

Unless it’s full auto (it’s not) it’s not an assault rifle. It’s the same as any magazine fed semi automatic hunting rifle.

The Harley sticker puts the last dozen nails in the coffin. Only thing worse would be a Ram Rebel.

LOOK AT ME I’M LATE 40s, BALDING AND REBELLING!

But Muh Raptor! V6s are for mini vans and skinny jean boys.

Eh, up to a point I’d rather have it crank out more boost than deal with the extra weight, complexity and rotating mass of a v8.
