It’s more miles driven because it’s back and forth to work 4 times, the kid would otherwise take the bus and you’d batch your errands into the most efficient route or maybe not run them at all.

I agree it could reduce some congestion after 5pm but people still need to get to and from work at the same times.

Because it’s possible people will send their cars home once they’re dropped off work to charge, drive their child to school, or run errands. Those are normally miles not driven because you’re stuck at work and physically can’t drive them.

We do get the Fiesta with the one liter (that’s what I drive) and the Cruz with the 1.4 turbo both with a manual. I’ve been in an Up when I was in Rome, the interior is certainly a step up. I’d also love to have independent rear suspension without going to a Focus sized car.

I think you’re very confused, NVH stands for Noise, Vibration and Harshness. It’s not a legal requirement, it’ s a generic catch all for how the car feels/sounds to the passengers.

Modern NVH requirements won’t allow that. Simple things like a stiffness change in the unibody made us redesign the rear suspension and rear brake system of a very new vehicle to meet the NVH requirements.

You can’t just drop in car parts, there’s so much refinement that goes into each design you don’t realize.
